From the Note page on my Profile:

Perhaps you made some Notes inadvertently on your phone or gps and downloaded them?

No. Some of these comments are vulgarities, Others are on caches I've never even looked at. Still others are tantamount to gibberish. I realize I can just delete the whole lot of them. I would still like to know how they ended up on my dashboard in the first place. As well, I do not use a smartphone. The oly GPS I've used in the last three years is a Garmin etrex 20.

  2. I too am trying to fill my Visited/Posted calendars as well "just because". I am down to about 15 dates left for each. I needed to post on 22 February, and have done so. 4 now. All have posted to the 21st. Based on GMT I should have seen approved WM appear on the 22nd on my calendar as of 1900 EST on the 21st. I posted (with approval) after 2100 EST and the date defaulted to the 21st.  I also had 2 more approved on the 22nd on the WM page - they show up on the calendar on the 21st. I have just had another WM approved as of 30 minutes ago (1800 EST). WM page shows approved on 22nd, calendar  still shows 21st.

I can understand the date/time "glitch" that fills in dated based on when a WM is approved/or visited. That's how it's always been. It's just these odd dates that do NOT conform to that that are maddening.

I would hate to think I will have to wait another year just for one date (yeah, it's a numbers thing :))

  3. That is odd, as I posted on the eve of the 20th thinking it was the 21st ( don't ask - this time of year I get messed up easily). They all posted to the 21st. Sooo, I purposely started early yesterday in order to not miss that shift... and they still posted to the 21st. After the date had changed in both Greenwich (fully aware of Zulu time) and in Seattle, the WM should have posted to the correct day - they didn't. However, based on your theory, I'll try to post a few more before the turn of the Greenwich day.

Thanks again for your help, guys.

  4. Thanks for the responses. I get that there's a time lag, but in my experience there are certain days where I can post a WM at 2100 EST and it will show as the next day. I posted WMs at 2300 EST, 0200 EST and 0340 EST last night and this morning. All posted to the 21st. I think there may be a glitch. Would hate to lose the date because of it. I will submit a few more...

  5. Working on completing my Visited/Posted date calendars. I've noticed there are a few days that, when a new WM is posted, the calendar doesn't update. I have completed almost 350 dates for both Posted and Visited, and would hate to miss a date because of this... (specifically today 22 Dec, as I have had several new WM approved for today and yet still showing a "0"). Who looks after this?

  6. This hasn't happened to me but I suggest going into a wifi spot before logging any trackable. This should work... hopefully.

    Let me know what happens.

I hope that this was useful!

This isn't on a phone. This is from a PC.

  7. When I try to use the Trackables Log feature (Dropped/Visited/Retrieved) feature with the new log version, they either stay in my inventory after I've dropped them or still show as in a cache after I've retrieved them. However, when I go to the old version, the new status is automatically updated and TBs are either in my inventory or not as per my previous actions. Is this a known problem, or am I doing something wrong now?

  8. We came across a USDOI GS mark in Ash Meadows NWR in western NV. The markings are 47 RBR 1965 and elevation 2377 Ft. Coords are N 36° 25.279 W 116° 17.447

How do I find a (the) data sheet on this, and how do I record it?

    Thanks, Jiggs11

  9. Kingdom Halls of Jehovah's Witnesses having trouble viewing the group page and category description.

If anyone can view the group page, I would like to know how many officers they current have.

    Thanks.

No problem opening the Cat (IE)

Three Officers...Sao Paolo1 is the poobah.

    Cheers, Jiggs

  10. I was listing some new waymarks tonight and was all set to add the Army Navy and Air Force Veterans (ANAF) branch in Kingston, ON - except it doesn't seem to fit in to any of the established categories, ie Legions, VFW, AMVETS etc. I then went on to discover that Air Force Association of Canada (AFAC) Wings and Naval Association of Canada (NAC) units aren't included either. I'm not sure about other countries having similar organizations, but seems to me that a new category may be in order to account for these other very worthwhile service clubs....

Thoughts? Someone have better direction as to where to list?

  11. I don't think the scavenger hunt is very active. I was playing around with it and noticed if you join an active hunt or activate your own, you don't get credit for way marks already visited. I had visited all the way marks of mine after I created it, but had not activated it so no credit. I joined another person's hunt and got credit for the new way marks but not for those already visited.

  12. One possible solution is that you visited a waymark that is BASED in NB, even though the waymark itself may have been visited in say, ON or IL or wherever. A classic example of that is the U-Haul Supergraphics category. Each graphic depicts a city, state or province - ie., Anne of Green Gables is based in Charlottetown, PEI, but you may have seen the graphic in Hamilton, ON.

  13. Let me know when Québec becomes part of your stats.

Will do. Some of the stats have updated but not all:

Quebec - still shows 0 visits. Likely won't update until tomorrow.

    Total # Visits: now 812

    # of Figurative Public Statues visited: Now at 8 and includes your waymark

    Here's another interesting twist:

Looking at my map I see a visit to New Brunswick. Like QC, have not been to NB since before my Waymarking days. Did I retro visit one? Was curious so I searched "Waymarks I've Visited" and filtered for location - New Brunswick. All Dates, no other filters.

    No Waymarks Found.

    ???????

  14. I have the same problem. The only 3 remaining unvisited waymarks on one of my hunts have been archived. How do I complete the hunt, or do I claim a moral victory?

Apparently, archived caches are removed from the "completed Hunt" requirement. I had found 99 of 100 Las Vegas Strip caches (the 100th was archived), yet I am still considered as "complete".

  15. I thought that scavenger hunts were designed to include only those waymarks that you have yet to visit.

The Scavenger Hunt created by someone else has no way of knowing who has and hasn't visited previously. I have had to "revisit" several WMs in order to get the credit (though no additional visit is recorded on stats).
