On The Website http://www.garmin.com/products/astro/ it says it has a range of up to 5 miles.

Is there any other settings beside the WAAS enabled that i can change to make it more accurate????

i was just wondering what is the accuracy usally like on your GPS? mine on good clear skys gets down to in the 30 feet zone. i was just wondering what is the average on most GPS's. If it matters i have an Etrex Legend. Thanks Findandhide

Has any one ever used the new GPS tracking device for dogs? It looks like it would be pretty cool to have. Garmin Astro Dog you could also use this for other things to like tracking your kids or on a car. tell what your thoughts are. Thanks Findandhide

I was thinking of have a cache like a film container or somthing and have a key in it. the film container would be stuck to the tree or whatever it was on. the key would be on a sting like say 20 feet long and the real cache would be within that area. the key would fit a lock on the cache and then you can open it. Tell me what you think and if you got any improvments for it. Have you ever sen anything else like this??? Thanks Findandhide

as long as you get someone to maintain it its fine. i already got one up that way and someone maintains it for me.

if anyone would be willing to maintain a cache for me in WI in the 54773 area i would really appreciat it. my family goes there every two years for family get togethers. im looking for someone that could maintain it for me. i planted a cache a few weeks ago. its like 300 miles away from my home. so i have someone maintaining it for me. im gona plant another one within ten miles of my house. i was wondering how often should i check on it. once a month? once a year? when someone says the logs full? how often do u check on your hidden caches?? i was wondering if you can have a "cache" as a building. u just drive past it than you log in online. you could have them say the address of the building or something.

my teacher had a club at school and it sounded interesting since i like the outdoors. so i joined it then by the 3rd time we went i had my own GPS.

im going to be going to a family get together soon and i want plant a small cache. I have a water proof pill bottle ready to hide. since i live like 400 miles away from where were going ( I live in kenosha WI and need some help in West Salem WI i figure i would need help to maintain it. i would visit it about every 2 years. I need somehelp other wise i will not be able to plant this cache. Thanks Findandhide

how would I get a hold of someone in that area. none of my family acually lives there we all just meet up their and beside they dont do geocaching anyways. the zip code for the area is 54669. can anyone tell me how to find someone in that area????? The container is waterproof i tested in my sink.

hey i asked thiss question a long time ago. but i need to know again. when i hook my gps to my comp andtry to send the cordinetts to it it comes up with an error. it works on my one computer (thats not that good) and dosnt on my good one. i was wondering if there is any other programs that i can use to send corrdents to my gps. i have an etrax legend and i use easygps right now.
