Is there any way for me to make the geocaches I have placed come up as a different icon please? I get the found brown and green unfound, but all those I have created come up as green unfound too. Not a big issue when I zoom in but I do wonder. They looked different on my old Darwin 10. Have just got an Oregon 700. Lots to learn.

I think you need to follow up with Magellan. If you read all the previous issues above they obviously had problems. They did fix my Magellan Explorist and it has worked perfectly since but I did have to pay the $27.00 cost to ship it for repair an hour away from me, (and I was prepared to take it and drop it off at the repair place but they would not allow that, saying they were not set up for that). GRRRR. Good luck.

My daughter is interested in a GPS watch for her birthday from us. She is a runner and wants to know distances etc. We are keen geocachers and I have a Magellan Explorist GC handheld and am very happy with it. Our grandchildren love geocaching with us and have Geomates. Our daughter takes them geocaching (we live a distance away) using her smartphone. Is there such a thing as a GPS wrist watch which would be supplemental to her smartphone? Any recommendations for birthday purchase which needs to be made soon? I Googled GPS watches and was faced with a screen with 276 in front of me. If anyone can help I would be so happy!!!

I am phoning Magellan first thing Monday morning I have decided. Obviously there is a problem with our Explorist GC. Let us stay in touch. I called Magellan this morning and they want me to return the unit. Suggest calling them if you are still having problems. I also am having issues with my Magellan Explorist gc. The same thing happened several months ago and all I had to do was update the firmware to 1.6 Went geocaching with it on tuesday and it worked fine. Went to upload my fieldnotes yesterday and it wouldn't go past the startup menu. The little compass just kept spinning in circles. Figured there had to be a new firmware update (there wasn't). Have tried reupdating it anyways and still won't go past startup. So frustrating. Sounds to me like they need a newer version of the firmware if it stops working all of a sudden. Any suggestions?

I cannot get past the first screen with my name and phone number. No main screen with the geocaches, map, tools, dashboard etc. I have taken out my relatively new Lithium batteries and changed to brand new alkaline and no difference. It worked fine this morning. What has happened. Can anyone help me? Is there any way to reset this GPS? I cannot find anything in the manual.
