  1. It's true.. The data sheet for the chip shows pins 10 & 11 as the TTL Inputs, with 14 & 7 being the respective RS232 outputs, and 12 & 9 as the TTL Outputs, with 13 & 8 being the RS232 inputs.. Well.. Back to building.. I use the GPS in my canoe, so I'm working on a better solution to the whole battery/232 connection thing..
  2. Sweeet! That's exactly what I was thinking, except that instead of using a MAX232 chip, I'm going to use a DS275 chip (smaller, no external caps!) I'll post a link to the process when I'm finished!
  3. I'm not sure if anyone has tried this as of yet, and I can't find anything in the searches, so here goes.. In test mode of my explorist 200, (Power On + Hold the OUT button) there seems to be a serial mode test, which of course, my unit fails, because it has no serial capabilities. Upon removing the rear cover of the unit, and checking it out, there are 4 little spots on the circuit board that make me smile, PWR, GND, TX, and RX.. Here's the question.. Does anyone have a pinout of the USB cable for the explorist, or can anyone tell me how it works with the power adapter? How many volts, etc? I'll be glad to post a complete how-to if I can make this thing work! Ron
  4. Hey Clyde, I'm having a problem installing GSAK on my 'puter.. I just bought a Palm M130 to go paperless, but when I tried to install GSAK, it goes to the splash screen and just hangs.. I DLed the latest version, 5.5 build 10.. If it helps, I have a Athlon 2600, Asus a7v8x MB, Asus 9260 Video, + toys... If you could help me out that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
