  1. Why not list it as another option in Sort Dropdown menu?
  2. I know PM caches show on the map with a circle icon. I was referring to an icon under stats of Cache Types I've Found. As DonJ indicated I can get that information via GSAK. Thanks for bringing up points I hadn't really thought about. Especially that Premium Members sometimes do drop from membership. I will have to play around more with GSAK. Thanks again for all the input and suggestions. All the answers help and are appreciated.
  3. I'd like to see a selection for Premium Member Caches Found. Anyone else?
  4. I had a geocoin that I marked missing when the Geocaching Block Party held 8.20.11, was archived on 11.2.11. There were several Geocoins and Travel Bugs in it's inventory. My Geocoin resurfaced today! Just wanted to post this for those who have a Geocoin or TB missing, you don't necessarily have to give up all hope! Chuck Cachekidz!
  5. Does anyone have a phone number to call about the app upgrade? It has been almost 5 days since I installed it and I have not received a response through here or facebook! I am getting really ticked!!
  6. If I could get the newest version of the app to work and not "Force Quit" I might be able to help you!! Tina CacheKidz!
  7. I see that several of us are having the same issues as I posted 2 days ago. I am still waiting for a response as I can't use the app at all right now!! I am getting the error message "application has stopped unexpectedly" (process com.Groundspeak.geocaching). I would like an answer soon!! Thanks!
  8. I downloaded the update and now I can't open the app. All I get is a "force close". I am using it on a HTC Hero.
  9. We just logged our 1st Webcam in mid April while in Newport Beach, CA at the Balboa Fun Zone I. If it were not for the webcam, we may not have met a geocacher (bigdaddygrc) and his family from the High Desert. He had seen us on the dock area facing the webcam. When I saw us in line for the whale watching tour and I had put my phone away, he asked if we were Geocachers. We struck up a conversation regarding mostly about geocaching of course. I had mentioned we had just reached our 500th Find earlier in the month. Later, after boarding the boat, George (bigdaddygrc) presented me with his 500th Find pin his brother had given to him when he reached his 500th Find, which was hundreds of caches ago. We've kept in touch via email or messages ever since. In fact, I learned his buddy who had captured the webcam photo was having some difficulty finding or loading the photo. I went to the site, found the webcam photo and forwarded it to George. Although webcam's may not be an actual or physical cache, I met a very cool geocacher and his family. IMHO, that tops a container and a log sheet! Chuck CacheKidz!
  10. I love my rechargable Streamlight Flashlights, but I recently discovered an Nebo CSI flashlight. Several styles to choose from. The one I have has a total of 30 LED bulbs. You can change lights from Bright white, Ultra Violet, Green nightvision, strobe and even has a laserpointer. The UV luminates your log at night without the glare. Chuck
  11. Hey Greg!Don't get discouraged! You'll get the hang of it. As others have suggested, try the ones that are 1 - 2 difficulty. Our 1st was a 3, but we didn't even know about the difficulty rating, plus we are just to stubborn (thanks to our parents) As far as c:geo, we've used it since 9/2010 and geocaching.com has yet to ban us, nor do I think they will. Keep at it! Chuck
  12. We recently found a cache that had been Archived for about 3 years, when we were searching a cache listed at the same location. The current CO contacted us and provided us with the information of the previous cache, which was a completely different name and tracking number of the current cache. We had signed both logs. I brought up the old tracking number and logged our find on that one too!
  13. What you can do as far as the dates of the finds, go to your friends profile and pull up their geocaches found. Scroll and click through the ones you know you were with them hiking, see when they made their entry, click on log it, change the date and add your comment. I do this with my daughters caches. CacheKidz!
  14. I've had a couple similar concerns with reviewers with caches I was listing. I had seen listing with variations of the name of a business, whether it be a retail or restaurant / fast food establishment. Looking back on the dates of the majority of those caches that were published, they were published 2 years ago or more. So I take it the guidelines were revised / changed along the way and are considered "Grandfathered" in. I do think it would help if in the guidelines, it indicated per section with a revision date and whether in full or in part. I feel this would eliminate some of the confusion. But the reviewer was not only helpful, but patient with me. He simply suggested to be a little creative.
  15. I'm assuming they're related, but please let me know if you're still seeing this issue on Blackberry. -Justin Justin, not sure what you did to take care of the issue, but I am glad you did! You are the man! Chuck
  16. I am using an HTC Hero with Android OS. While navigating on Geocaching.com I receive a Security Warning indicating There are problems with the security certificate for this site. This is not from a trusted authority. Is anyone else experiencing this? My wife and I have the same phone and OS, but she is not experiencing this pop up warning. Any suggestions? Thanks, Chuck (CacheKidz!)
  17. When your birthday cake and card are encrypted in ROT13. On the cake: UNCCL OVEGUQNL QNQQL And for Christmas, I gave my wife a card (encrypted of course) with the coordinates to a bison tube with a rolled up c note.
  18. Here is Southern California we have encountered many Black Widows while geocaching. If it is a dark space, expect to see one!! I will mention it in my log and move on. We do not reach blindly anymore, a quick check with a flashlight does wonders! At home, I usually squish them to bits. I did catch a HUGE one and keep it in a sealed jar, it took her a couple weeks to die!! Tina Cachekidz!
  19. I drive by one of our caches every day on the way home from work and one day I spotted a woman sitting in her car right by it and it looked like she was writing something. I almost stopped but didn't. When she logged it find I asked her if she drove a _____ and made the find about 6 PM. It was her and she said I should have stopped, she would have loved to meet. We are in contact as she lives in the area and hope to really meet and go caching together! Tina
  20. Congratulations!! We got our 100th find over the weekend!! We have pics posted on our profile! Tina
  21. Do you have a personalized Geocaching car license plate? If so what is it? I was trying to come up with ones last night and all the "good ones" in California are taken!! Tina
  22. My HTC Hero is very accurate!! It usually puts me right on top of the cache!!
  23. We just got the Magellan Explorist 210 off of eBay for $71! It is new with all the "stuff" just no box! Thanks for the suggestions.
  24. My wife and I currently use c:geo on our HTC Hero. But we are looking to invest into a inexpensive device for our 10 year old daughter to use. So, I would kind of like to find out what you use, or maybe started out with? Thanks, Cachekidz! - Chuck
