  1. GPSDiscount.com shows the Authorized Logos for Garmin, Magellan, and Lowrance. I would think that any seller who was an authorized dealer would make it known.
  2. DrBugs - I went with the 60CSx deal from GPSDiscount. Should arrive early next week. How is the learning curve thus far? Any out-of-the-box advice?
  3. Regarding compass recalibration on the 60CSx, I think I've read where it needs to be done every time the battery is swapped out. If so, that seems like a real pain. What's the process for calibration of this unit? Just point to known north and mark it?
  4. I thought I read a recent thread where you could load them in through the POI loader. Or was that only with the 60CSx?
  5. DrBugs - Please be sure to post when you receive your unit. I'm thinking of purchasing some items from them.
  6. It might be fun to see the track of where you went all day. That's about it. At the exorbitant prices at WDW these days, you don't want to be wasting your time trying to look for anything in the park!
  7. DrBugs, Mastiflover, or anyone else - Since you bought the autorouting kit with City Select, what are your plans (if any) to upgrade to City Navigator v8 when it comes out? Is it better to delay unlocking the software until closer to the window when an upgrade to CNv8 might be free?
  8. Moun10Bike - Thanks for the screenshot! Very helpful!
  9. Thanks. So the limited nature is that it only shows a 3-D view of your route (and presumably not other roads that are not on the route)? Anyone have any photos?
  10. Does the 60csx offer the 3-D view (aka "Bird's Eye" view) for navigation? I've used the Garmin receivers intended for use in the automobile, and they offer both 2-D and 3-D view. Not sure about the 60csx. Anybody know?
  11. What's a ballpark cost for an upgrade (based on previous ones)? Are we talking $20, $50, or $100?
  12. Is there a (free) upgrade path between CS v7 to CN v8? In other words, if I buy CS7 now, will I be able to get a free upgrade to CN8 whenever it comes out? How does this work?
  13. Bhorocks (or anyone else who knows) - Are you saying the hint size limit on the 60Csx is 20 characters? Or did they expand the hint size in the 60csx? Thanks.
  14. Moonpup, are you worried about the bulkier size of the 60csx? I don't have a Vista C, but I'm not sure what about the 60csx would compel me to buy one (memory size or sirf) if I already had a Vista C. Are you not happy with the Vista C? -HB
  15. Would it be possible to tap into the On-star antenna?
  16. -snip- The "old" eTrex and 60/76 series antennas are almost equal regarding satellitte reception. -snip- Then what was the main reason for selecting the 60C or 60CS over the eTrex series? Seems like the 60C is alot bigger with margin benefits (slightly bigger screen is all I can think of).
  17. Is the receiver and antenna on the Etrex comparable to the one on the 60CS? I understand the Cx (sirf) should be better than the CS, but how does the Etrex series compare with the 60C or 60CS right now?
  18. Does the new Explorist firmware have increase size for cache hints? How many characters?
  19. How many characters are available for a cache "Hint"? I think the limit on the Explorist 4/5/600 series is 50 characters, which is annoying. What about the Garmin 60cs model?
  20. Would these maps of Costa Rica work on the GPSMap 60c or 60cs?
  21. Huli Bearz - I think all reading this thread would be interested in reading your early lessons learned from your 210 experience. Please post! -HB
  22. Hmm. I thought earlier message posts said that the XL did not have expandable memory. But this thread seems to imply it does. What's the definitive word on this? -HB Edit: Sorry - I think I was confused with the Explorist 210. Question retracted!
  23. "Someone swiped it out of my Jeep. My fault." That statement bothered me a bit - sounds like blame the victim. Sad commentary on the world today.
