  1. I've been away from Geocaching for about 4 years. In coming back I have noticed the trend of one line logs. Doesn't make much difference to me. I'm mostly interested as to when the cache was last visited. I am disappointed in the trend towards micro-caches. I don't even bother looking for them. I don't like them and my grandkids don't like them.
  2. Thanks everyone. With your help I figured it out....
  3. I've recently purchased a Magellan eXplorist 310 and I'd like to post a review of my first impressions. I can view the existing reviews of this GPS but can't figure how to post a new one. Can someone help? Thanks...
  4. I monitor 2 most of the time here on the Oregon coast. Mostly 147.22 on Mt. Hebo. Great fun between caches. Phil KD7ZD
  5. Yes! I can get it here in Oregon as long as I can see to the South West.
  6. I seldom have cellular coverage when Geocaching except when near some of the bigger cities here in Oregon. I always have it with me, however. It’s small enough that even on a long hike it’s no trouble. You just never know and it’s cheap insurance.
  7. Well shucks. April's too soon and I'm on call May 18th so I have to vote for June 1st. Have work gloves - will travel.
  8. This one’s not all that far from Eugene and you don’t have to hike to find the cache but there is a 1.6-mile hike through a BLM old growth preserve. This one’s back in the brush about 30 miles and takes about a 3 hour drive round trip on logging roads. We saw a herd of elk on the way in and a big ol’ bobcat on the way out. It takes a bit of navigating to get there also. Check it out at: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=15278
  9. Shucks, I voted for the “ends of the earth” because the next nearest choice of 100 miles just doesn’t cover it. Last Sunday I did 65 miles round trip on logging roads just for one cache. Not counting the miles to start the adventure. Besides, a logging road mile should be worth at least 5 on pavement.
