  1. Has anyone else noticed the new updates to the opencaching.com website? They are showing the new slogan and now you can see their new blue mascot peeking around the left margin. I wonder what is in-store for cachers??
  2. I have also experienced this same issue with inputing coordinates. Each additional coordinate that you manually enter overwrites the previous. There can be only one! The workaround that was previously mentioned by marking waypoint and renaming it works well.
  3. We have been extremely happy with our Dakota 10. We have found only 70 caches with it so far and plan on finding many more. The user interface is very quick and easy to navigate. The different profiles are a joy to setup and use when you are not geocaching. I got it bundled with the Citynavigator 2010 maps which is just awesome to use on 'Automotive' profile for true routing on roads.
  4. We got hit up here in Maine, New Hampshire, and VT from several spamming bots today. They posted a link to a 'Forest Defenders' blog within their found it post on several of my hides. Nothing else better for them to do I guess.
  5. @fegan: So, your saying to always overwrite your main gpx file on the dakota after download from a recurring PQ? I can create a PQ to not include my found caches and overwrite the gpx file on the dakota that contains all the newest logs etc???
  6. Yeah, exactly what he said! This is the easiest/fastest way to maintain the log files. Keep in mind you can only view the last 4 log entries or so anyways!
  7. Hello Mainsheet! Do you know if the new Magellan Explorist GC which is advertised as seamless with www.gc.com is completely paperless as you describe?? Are you able to see the current logs and such on the WWW.gc.com website with the Explorist GC? Thanks, -stedyone
  8. My research hinted that they might have manufactured them into 2003 or so. I was not aware that SA was 'turned off' by the Gov't or somebody! The manual I downloaded vaguely states accuracy to within 15 meters. That's not as close to GZ as I was hoping for. Most reviews are in favor of the GM100 as a good starting unit. I am being given this unit so I have to try it at least with my kids first. Then, dependent on how fun it is or interesting for my kids and family, I will look into buying something new.
  9. This looks promising! I'll download and give it a try tomorrow. Even if it doesn't specifically list my Globalmap 100, it might work.
  10. Greetings forum posters! First time poster here. Me and my kiddos have very recently became interested in GC. We are inheriting a used Lowrance Globalmap 100. We would like to use it immediately! Can any of you wonderful forum members recommend a workflow to get the cache waypoints from www.geocaching.com website onto the Globalmap 100? I realize we can manually input them with the UI on the unit but, is there any free software that can setup and transfer routes or waypoints onto it? Thanks in advance, -Fickfamily
