  1. I have yet to find an ODS cache but you never know.....
  2. My 1 day record is 21 from a trip to the Toledo Bend area of Louisiana and Texas for a 2 day caching trip. Most were in Texas.
  3. This was taken at Cypress Bend in Many, Louisiana
  4. I started caching with my daughter when she was 3. She will now be 6 in 2 months. We have in our house, a large plastic jar with pony tail holders, small toys and other "essentials". She likes to "geocache" in the house and I have to hide it for her and she will seek it out. Then she hides it for me. She uses the remote for her GPSr in the house because she knows she can't get a signal with the real one. LOL
  5. I have paniced thinking I lost my GPSr...need to get a beeper for the dang thing! But I DID leave my CAMERA at a cache once! Was 2 hours and 3 caches later when I realized it. We were driving through a field of cows and I wanted to take a pic as they were approaching the car. Had to backtrack MILES. Not only was my camera in the bag but all my coins as well! Found it safe and sound. Thank goodness. Check out my GEOCACHERS PUZZLE HERE: http://www.myspace.com/geocacherpuzzle
  6. Got new piece in the mail today from Mommio in TX. http://www.myspace.com/geocacherpuzzle Great piece. Thanks! For everyone who has a piece and not yet returned it, I will be having an event next month and would LOVE to have your piece included! And if you WANT a piece, let me know!
  7. I watch the caches local to me that I have found...within a 10 to 20 mile radius. Then if something comes up like a lot of DNF's or needs maintenance, I go and check it out in case the owner doesn't have time or can't get to it if I have a chance. Or at least verify it IS there.....
  8. Added 5 new puzzle pieces. You can check them out on page 2 here: http://www.myspace.com/geocacherpuzzle I will be taking a new "BIG PICTURE" this weekend. The new pieces are from CuMoChi, LTDHubb, Big Doggy, Gryarvold and of course my little one made a piece
  9. Here is mine! It is for my Geocacher's Puzzle! http://www.myspace.com/geocacherpuzzle
  10. I found one while searching for another cache. Never found the cache I set out to find though. But as I was walking down the trail which looped around, I happened to notice a coke can stuck in a tree a few yards off the trail. Being the nosy cacher I am, I had to investigate WHY the can was in the tree WAY over there. The can proved to be nothing, but after rooting around at the base of the tree, I found a cache that was SO OLD and moldy. There was a cacher name and phone number in the box, but when I called the number, they didn't know who the person was and the cacher name was no longer active on the site. Oh Well. I doctored it up and next time I am in the area, I am going to "adopt" it.
  11. Hi everyone! The puzzle is looking great. I have had several requests to be able to view each piece individually, so I have created a "space" at MySpace. Go here: http://www.myspace.com/geocacherpuzzle to view the puzzle and each piece. If you haven't done one yet and want to, contact me. I will be going to an event on April 14, so if you have a piece you want to be included, get it back as soon as possible!
  12. geocachers puzzle Here is the correct link to the new pic for the geocachers puzzle. The other, if you got to see it was my caching daughter! This puzzle will be going to a meet in Ruston, LA on April 14th. so if you have a puzzle piece completed, send it in so it can go too!
  13. The Geocacher Puzzle is GROWING!!Here is a link to the updated picture for those of you who are involved and for y'all that WANT to be involved. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-11/883...3-fotka_320.jpg You can read more about it in my profile! Cache ya later!
  14. Have only seen 2 snakes so far while out caching. Pretty good record for Louisiana I guess! One was a small black snake wrapped around a limb I was going to grab, the other was a little grass snake yesterday. The only other thing I run into literally is those dang BANANA SPIDERS!!! Their webs are about 5 foot across and they just love to block the trails. I didn't know hikers and cachers were on the diet! Nothing else though, my 5 year old CAN'T keep quiet and will scare anything within a 5 miles area.
  15. sorry that didn't work... I guess I will have to figure out how pictures are posted on here.
  16. 17. 43 here...My daughter is 5. Also got my sister hooked, age 41 and my dad, age 66.
  18. Hope your not TOO depressed, cause I just submitted one today for approval and your the guy!
  19. I have a large camo backpack with multiple pockets. 2 side pockets for water, a small front zip pocket to carry my personal geocoins with me in case I run into another cacher who would like to "discover" them. Then there is a large outside pouch that holds my GPSr, walkie talkies, compass, pens, etc. The large inside compartment holds a zip bag of snack items, zip bag of cache repair kit stuff for when a cache I find needs maintenance, zip bag of trade items, zip bag of travel bugs & coins and a zip back of emergency items such as snake-bite kit, tic remover, bandages and the sort. It is somewhat on the heavy side but that is okay.....makes for good exercise!
