I got the coordinates for this benchmark off of this website. I read the descripition however in my zeal to find the benchmark I failed to make a copy of it. I will do that and go back to recheck the area for the actual disc.

I am not sure why you can't see the picture. It is an orange post with the words "survey marker" on it and NOAA.

I have a question, if the marker is underground but you find this can you log the benckmark or is this cheating?

Witness Post? I am totally new at benchmarking. I would like to know if this is a witness post?

I also have a Meridan Gold and I love it. Yes it is bulky and it doesn't have a color screen, so what? I love it.

Not sure which model he bought. He got it at Wal-Mart in Concord NC and I am in Sumter SC so I did not actually see it. We just discussed the issue about EasyGPS over the phone. From the sounds of it he will be much happier with the Legend.

Well he exchanged his reciever for a etrex legend C. He likes it much better.

I got my brother interested in GeoCaching during the Thanksgiving Holiday. He went out and purchased a Whistler GPS reciever from Wal-Mart. I use a Magellan Meridan Gold. I download the *.loc files and use EasyGPS for transferring to my reciever. He downloaded EasyGPS and it seems it does not recognize his reciever. What software should he use for his unit? Should he take it back to Wal-Mart and get a different unit?
