  1. I edited my original post to less pointed. I want to thank you for the suggestion to hide my e-mail. It might help but will take a bit for the SPAM level to drop off. I'll wait and see.
  2. It's hard to tell the source of the SPAM. I am not suggesting that Groundspeak is selling the list. I only question why this is the only account that experiences the high volume of SPAM, since I only us it for geocaching. This post was intended to determine if others experience the same issue and how they might have dealt with it.
  3. I have setup a separate e-mail account for geocaching. I never use this account for surfing the internet or logon to any site besides Geocaching_Com. I receive an excessive amount of SPAM on this account compared to my other accounts. The SPAM is mostly of a sexual nature. Just this morning in the past 2 hours I received 30 unwanted e-mails. My question: Is anyone else experiencing this problem and have they found a way to deal with it. I am also directing this issue to Groundspeak_com for suggestions.
  4. Tried this again and confirmed something I thought happen last Saturday. If the cache is already loaded in the GPS, the live update doesn't overwrite the one already stored in the GPS. In fact the cache isn't even reloaded with or without the revised coords. You can tell because the Live Data file isn't created. Check the Filter.
  5. My Oregon 700 with ver 4.0 is properly importing puzzles with corrected coords. I am using bluetooth through my phone. I will try WIFI later.
  6. The Garmin Oregon 700, as I understand it,doesn't use the phone app. Maybe I should have first asked what app are you referring to. Just checked it out using my home wireless network. No phone or phone app involved. It still loads the posted coordinates vs the corrected coordinates.
  7. Are you stating that phone WIFI hotspot is a workaround or that it might work?
  8. I sure wish this would get fixed.
  9. Your reply makes sense and matches what I was attempting. It would make sense that a cache be unfavorite'd when a found log is deleted. This would eliminate the issue and tighten the program code. Just a thought.
  10. I sent an email to Garmin support and received this reply. This is working as designed. If you would like to see this changed, I would recommend contacting geocaching.com to see if they can change the way their data is transferred to our devices. I find myself in the tech support circle. Where can I post this issue in the geocaching forum and the Lackey will notice.
  11. That is not what I experienced. The log had already been archived when I attempted to relog a found cache. I received an API warning. I will set up a test to confirm. Meanwhile, your devs need to verify.
  12. Cache is GC72RP4 Adventure is calling The archived log is GLR3XAKM I'm not sure if I deleted the log minutes before attempting to relog or several days ago. I am certain that the log wasn't showing on the cache page.
  13. ver 3.3 original was 3.0 and recently updated from 3.2 and then 3.3 None of the updates address this issue. Most likely comes through the API with posted coordinates.
  14. I recently purchased a Garmin Oregon 700 and frequently use the Live Geocaching feature to download caches. When I download a puzzle with corrected coordinates (on the cache page), the cache is downloaded with posted coordinates. This is a bug that needs immediate attention.
  15. I recently deleted a found log and attempted to add a found log back using a 3rd party app such as GSAK. The API trapped the attempt and refused to add the new/revised log. It seems that the API considers an archived found log to be active. I had to complete the new log using Groundspeak log entry.
  16. Red90: So please explain how to load more than 1000 through Groundspeak without PQ's. The only other way I know is one at a time. Just curious. Punisher911 has already indicated that the bluetooth link to the Iphone isn't working.
  17. My caching friends and I experience many problems transferring caches using the wireless communication on the Oregon 600. Lockups, lost communication, and most confusing the files transfers but won't display. Investigating this last problem, I have found as many as 3 copies of the gpx and it won't display. A gpx copy for each attempt to transfer. When the GPS freezes up or fails to complete the transfer, we remove the batteries (reboot) and start over. We seldom experience problems when an older GPS (non-Oregon) is use to initiate the transfer.
  18. I am a seasoned cacher and occasionally have this problem. It is usually due to me fat fingering the setting on the filter screen. I mostly move the slider for th DT rating.
  19. I just picked up my new Oregon 700 this afternoon and have already been geocaching with it. I started by wirelessly sending caches from my old 600 to the 700. Now for the question or statement of a problem. I immediately updated the firmware to the latest ver 3.1. I successfully connected the gps to my android phone through bluetooth. The phone was the greater portion of the challenge. I also discovered that a live cache will not overwrite a gpx file saved through the PC. The problem occurs when using the GC Live Download for a puzzle cache with corrected coordinates, the GPS receives posted coordinates. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Am I doing something wrong? Is the issue with Garmin or Groundspeak?
  20. Does anyone know how to create a Pocket Query from the search filter or maybe the map. Wish to send the entire filter to my GPS or PQ.
  21. I might use the APP if I could move it to external memory on my Samsung S5 android phone. I only have 16g of internal memory. No way will I start saving offline maps there. Note: I found it effortless to save the offline maps. The feature is really easy.

I would think this is common for all Garmin. I know the oregon 600 has this issue. This is what caused the problem for my friend. Another caching friend has experienced the same issue on an older model Garmin.

He simply removed the quote in notepad. The garmin oregon 600 allowed him to enter the quote in his field notes
