Hi, your post caught my eye because I'm going to Greece for vacation in Sept 2008. I hope to do some geocaching while I'm there. I'll be around Athens. My grandfather immigrated from Volos so I really want to go there too.

Yesterday, I was looking around the Groundspeak website and I realized that their location is close enough to my work that I probably could walk there. I wonder if they welcome the "pop in"? I have been lurking until recently. I've completely lost my mind for geocoins. I am obsessed with ordering my own custom coins. I have been doing research and trying to convince myself that it isn't crazy to spend so much money to have some coins made. I only have 2 geocoins but I really like them. They're pretty, have a nice weight to them, and support a good cause. Mental Illness awareness. My question: how hard is it to resell geocoins? I want to support my geocoin habit so I can have more made but I'll need to recoup my expenses. Does anyone do this? Also, what makes for a popular geocoin? I want incorporate my interests in a geocoin that is appealing to others, too. Thanks for the cointest. I like reaching out even if I don't win. I'm adding an edit so I can say... I joined in 2005 because my brother is a geocaching NUT! But I only started geocaching "for real" this early this year.

I am wondering how many WSU Cougars geocache? I am wondering how many University of WA Huskies geocache? Do you think a university cache theme would be too ... I can't remember what the rules say but I know that you can't places caches that promote certain things. The cache would be a postive theme and not a "you suck" theme. Which leads me to my next posting request.... Please don't use this post for negative comments. Yes, they're rival schools but we're all geocachers. (you can cheer for your school if you want). Does the "don't id" mean they won't engrave the tracking ID on the coin? My supplier will do it so I think I am ok. I'm pretty sure CB means... "If they don't, I'd seek a new supplier". Darned apostrophe's and capitalization! I'm guessing you're dealing with a company that doesn't specialize in geocoins so they don't have the relationship in place with Groundspeak. They want you to acquire the tracking numbers and provide them in a file ready to send to the mint. You will need to 'prepare' the file that you get from Groundspeak so that you only send the column of data that they need in an XL format. It's not a big job but it's just one of those steps that needs to be done. Also, this makes me wonder about the icon (if you're buying one).... If the company isn't designing it and sending it to Bryan, then you need to send the icon in two sizes 32x32 pixels and 16x16 pixels to him for it to be uploaded. His name is Bryan and you already been given contact info. Most companies that produce geocoins provide all this as part of the service they offer. I am ordering geocoins from a supplier which doesn't manage tracking numbers. I've been looking in the forums and the FAQs but I can't figure out where to buy a lot of tracking numbers. I know the answer is somewhere out there but I haven't found it. I hope it isn't somewhere really obvious and I missed it. That would be embarrassing!

I wish the prefix could be three digits then i could have small words, MAX, DOG, CAT, BOO, HAH, etc

I never saw the old travel bug map but I found this thread because I WANT something like it. A map showing where my bugs have been. Also, is there a map that shows where I've found a cache? My sister is trying to find a cache in every state. Is there a map that would show her the progress? Thank you.
