  1. Washington State University Trackable, unactivated Geocoins $15.00 plus $2.00 s/h Check out My activated WSU coin page to see how it looks and feels. Sliding scale price reductions on larger purchases. Let's talk if you're interested.
  2. I am so very happy to hear from everyone and I apologize for not responding promptly. I am moving and having a moving sale so I have been neglecting other obligations. The coins are for sale. I ask everyone to wait a week or two until I get to the new place and then I can contact everyone. Thank you very much for your patience!!! April I guess there isn't a coin purchasing group still in operation. I live in Shoreline so I'll meet with people interested in buying 5 or more coins. It will save on postage (of course, the price of gas might not make it worth the drive ;-)

  4. UPDATE: Hello, I've reduced the price of the coin to $25 plus $4.00 shipping (there are no handling charges) This coin was made in the United States of America. the link above is still working.
  5. I fixed the link WSU coin link attempt 2 I'm he recipient of the fundraiser. I was making a tongue in cheek joke. I don't know if the licensing fee public knowledge. I didn't work directly with WSU. I worked with someone who had purchased rights to the logo for resale. This is the first coin that I've had created so I might have been over charged. If I don't sell any then I'll lower the price. That's pretty typical in the retail business. Okay, I hope you don't take this as mean spirited in anyway, but your coin is way too expensive for what it is. I have no idea how much you paid in licensing fees, but a typical coin sells for around $10. You would probably sell out much faster and still make a profit if you mark it down to about $2 over your cost. Thanks for the constructive criticism. I appreciate it. The feedback has indicated that a lower price maybe needed.

  7. I'm curious about a couple things (aside from the price)... How is it "unique"? Is there only 1? Being a trademarked logo, how did you get permission to use it? Is it being marketed by the University as well? Were any other metal versions made or planning to be made? How many of each if there is more than 1? Does it have a custom icon? What's the thickness? edit to add: You mention it being "my" coin in the title. Is this your personal coin? It's "unique" because it's the only WSU coin and maybe the only university coin. There are 300 made. Future coins (if made) will be slightly different (a different metal version). I measure the coin at 3 mm thick. I'll weight it in the future. I am unfamiliar with "my" coin. I contacted a designer and worked with him and the mint to get it created. Does that make it a personal coin?
  8. Curious about the price... $35, plus $4 for postage? That's the correct price? ouch, is this being sold as a fundraiser for something? It's a fundraiser but NOT for a non-profit group.
  9. Yes, that's the price. If none sell than I will come down on the price. Are you having to pay a fee to use that logo? yes
  10. Yes, that's the price. If none sell than I will come down on the price. Are you having to pay a fee to use that logo? Yes, a fee had to be paid to use the the logo. PS - I hope I am replying properly. I am awkward at the reply function.
  11. How many did you make of each version? Inquiring minds want to know. TMA There are 300 of this version. If the coin is popular then I'm going to make a slight change.
  12. The coin was made with legal use of the registered trademark and can be sold for profit.
  13. Yes, that's the price. If none sell than I will come down on the price.
  14. This is my fist geocoin and I am very excited. I have one on ebay but I will take direct orders, too. This is an unique coin with the trademarked WSU Coug logo. WSU Geocoin Link attempt 2
  15. How do I sell the coins I had made? Ebay is an option. I am guessing there is an appropriate location within the forum. thank you.
  16. I am having some geocoins made by a company that hasn't made geocoins before (long story). I told the rep that the activation codes would be consecutive but OOPS! I was wrong. The guy can't/won't individually engrave the activation codes on each coin (300). I want to have the coins made and then engraved at another source. Do you think another company that makes geocoins would take care of this task? Any ideas where to go? I thought of engraving them myself with a dremel tool but I am afraid that will look really sloppy. Does anyone know of a company that produces geocoins in the Seattle area? Please give me some great ideas!!! Thank you.
  17. My dad graduated from the WSU forestry mgmt program in 1970 (I think).
  18. I would love to run a simply query directly on the Groundspeak database. I want to see how many active caches per state. How do I figure it out without hacking into the Groundspeak database *kidding *kidding *kidding!!! ( I wouldn't know how to do it even if I wanted to do it). Any ideas? Thank you.
  19. So tell us, just how ADULT do you want the stuff to be? there was a (in package) condom in one of the caches I found. I mentioned when I logged the find in case the cache owner wanted to make the contents "G" rated. I don't expect to find good trading stuff but I tend to cache with children and they go NUTS for the toys! I carry a few good items with me in case I find something worthwhile and I can do an equal trade.
  20. Is it reasonable to think that I can have some geocoins made then sell them to cover the cost? With a small markup I could have some free ones for myself. I am worried about dropping the money (coin minting, tracking id, and logo fee) and then having 250 coins that no one wants to buy. It would be great if I could activate them all for myself but it isn't financially feasible. So, what's the best ways to sell unactivated geocoins? Forums? Ebay? What are the other methods? Thank you for the feedback.
  21. The glass etching used on it is simple but how sturdy is that glass coin? Do you think a blank glass coin is something I could buy at a craft store?
  22. This morning, I was thinking about this contest for lurkers. The original instructions mentioned that the winner should be some what new to forums (I think this rule was change) but it occurred to me that a true lurker would have been a member longer without many posts. Here are my calculations: Number of days a forum member: 2911 Number of posts: 14 Posts per day 0.0048 Here are Keewee's calculations: Number of days a forum member: 62 Number of posts: 862 Posts per day 13.9 Anyway, lurking has given me a lot of time to think about it. Thanks again for the cointest. I didn't know there were contests. It's fun!
  23. Thanks for the cointest! I didn't know they existed until yesterday. Happy Easter!
