  1. I just got the cable (ebay), the computer sees it. I installed the drivers before plugging it in. When I got to Device manager/ports I see "prolific usb-to-serial comm port (comm 4). In GSAK/GPS settings I have the usb box uncheked and com4 selected. The GPS is on and it's set to Garmin interface not NMEA.
  2. It's connected to com4. I tried changing it to different ports (1 & 3) but I got the same results. I made sure the hotsync software was closed/disabled.
  3. I've tried everything and I cannot get it to see the GPS. The error message I keep getting is: Garmin can't init COM3 I've tried com1, com4 and com3. None of them have made a difference. I have a garmin IIIplus and an etrex and I get the same message with both. Help Please!!
  4. You think thats bad. This T.B is named after Eugene Oregon and it's currently in...... South Africa Somehow I don't think it'll make it here I dropped one of my bugs in a cache in Idaho with a goal of making it back to Africa. It went to South Africa and the UK now it's back making it's way around Texas. So anything is possible
  5. Something interesting I saw in the pre-Christmas adds relates to this. The add was from Academy, a Sports store down here, can't remember which GPSr it was for but in the picture next to the GPSr was a guy holding the GPSr near a ammo box clearly bearing the Geocaching.com logo.

Still highly recomend this Cache to anyone coming to town. DD DD

  8. My wife got a "Just Published" email at about 3:45 PM on Christmas day for a Multi Cache less than 2 miles from our house. We decided to go for it as we had yet to get a FTF. Left the food and Turkey in the oven and bolted out the door. For those in Lousiana/ West MS these is a great one. Check it out.
  9. I recently ran across The Dead Man Walking Micro in Slidell, Louisiana. The location of the cache was used in several scenes from the Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon Pic and there are a couple pics on the Cache page taken as the movie was being filmed.
