  1. Yes, I could do that thanks, but thought it best to ask first, just so as not to upset anyone! I would obviously, like to have the owners blessing before I add their Lancashire Geocoin to our list. cheers, John www.lancashire-geocoins.co.uk
  2. In 2006, 250 Lancashire Geocoins went on their travels, some in caches...........some in private collections? How far have they travelled?.........and to which countries?.........which one has travelled the furthest? Foinavon and a certain 'Pirate' have got me thinking about tracking their progress on our website,( what with their their exploits downunder! ) so if anyone out there who has one of our Lancashire Geocoins would like to know more about their Lancy Geocoin and others besides, please let me know and I'll do the rest? I've uploaded a few already, just to get things going! (here) cheers, John www.lancashire-geocoins.co.uk

  4. No need for it but it does add a splash of colour to the front of the coin. Getting rid of it does free up more space for the 3D image though as shown below: Excellent design ! I agree any space that is left on a Geocoin after the design is complete needs to be utilised. Show as much detail as possible, but the additional colour is needed to make the coin stand out more! 5. Thank you for all the e-mails we've received regarding our new Geocoins, and for letting us know that they arrived safely. If you haven't let us know already that you have your coins, please can you drop us a quick e-mail or update the forums to let us know? cheers, John. www.lancashire-geocoins.co.uk

  7. For those who would like to know more about Liverpool click here! Capital of Culture News Liverpool City Council established the Liverpool Culture Company in 2000 to co-ordinate its bid for European Capital of Culture 2008. In June 2003 the government announced that Liverpool had beaten off eleven other contenders for the prestigious title. Independent consultants estimate the title will attract £2bn of investment, 14,000 new jobs and an extra 1.7 million visitors. In addition, an extra £220 million will be spent by tourists, supporting 3,000 jobs. Although the actual Capital of Culture year is 2008, each year up until 2010 is based around a particular theme, with hundreds of events taking place in the city to celebrate that particular aspect of cultural life in Liverpool. 2003 - The Year of Learning 2004 - The Year of Faith in One City 2005 - The Year of the Sea 2006 - Liverpool Performs incorporating Arts and Sport 2007 - Liverpool's 800th birthday 2008 - European Capital of Culture 2009 - Year of the Environment 2010 - Year of Innovation Please see website below for full details. www.liverpool08.com cheers, John www.lancashire-geocoins.co.uk

  11. I must admit the exchange rate is not as favourable for our US customers as what we would have liked! We wanted to make the coin price as attractive as possible for all our valued and new customers alike, and would have preferred to keep our price at £5.00 (Blackpool Tower coin price). Unfortunately, the downside to securing the deal with the Liverpool Capital of Culture people is that we are contracted to pay them a sizeable royalty fee for the use of their official logo. We have also tried to minimise the shipping costs as much as possible. £2.40 for shipping to the US we feel is a good price given that the total cost of shipping + paypal charges is in excess of this.......consequently, the loss is absorbed in the coin cost. We would like to minimise costs to the US, and would welcome any suggestions as to how we can do this? In view of this, Brian and I have agreed to keep the shipping cost to £2.40 to the US no matter how many Coins are ordered. If you could combine an order, this could minimise the cost perhaps? Please let us know any ideas you may have.............our only wish is to add to our list of happy customers! kind regards, John www.lancashire-geocoins.co.uk
  12. Great news!!.........Coins arrived today. We are thrilled to bits with them! Just got to get the final approval on Friday from Liverpool and then we can start shipping!! cheers John & Brian www.lancashire-geocoins.co.uk

  19. I've not heard of a British list so to speak but you might find Deegos list a good place to find some: http://www.deego.co.uk/web/gc/photolist.htm Ones I know of are the: Best of British 2006, Best of British 2007, Lancashire Coin, Yorkshire Coin, Dartmoor Coin, Blackpool Tower Coin, Stone Henge Coin, Wykenwizards Coins, UK geocoin 2005, Scotland Coin, Wales Coin, London Round Coin, London Phone Box Coin, Isle of Man Coin, England Coins, Kernow Cachers Coin (Cornwall) There are definitely more but those are the only ones that spring to mind at the moment. I don't think that there is a Shropshire one though. I may be wrong so don't quote me on that though. Hello, Just received confirmation from The Haywood Hornets to let me know that he has just taken delivery of "The Staffordshire Geocoin"..........that's another one for the British list ! Iain doesn't plan to put them on open sale but says he will be taking them to events........having seen the design myself, I expect them to get snapped up pretty quickly !!
