  1. I just got the 60c, I have been using the 76s for the past year. The 76s has a larger screen, rock solid for caching. It has a compass and altimiter but I really have not used them. The compass really cuts battery life and I always carry a regular compass anyway. I've had the 60c for a week now. It locks onto 6 sats in my living room with an EPE of 12'. Loading topo maps is very quick with the USB interface. I can load all of Connecticut, Mass., and RI in memory. The screen is small and you don't get much topo detail. If mapping is what your after, the 76s has a bigger screen.

  2. Welcome to the obsession. I've done most of my finds solo, but do take my family on the weekends. The kids love the treasure hunt. My wife even surprised me. I didn't think she really liked to cache, until she called me at work to ask how to use the GPS. She took the kids on her day off. I find it very relaxing to go out solo. Have fun

  3. Being new to the sport, I'm really hooked. I spend enough time on the site to want to contribute the $30. I havn't been to any members only caches but I use the pocket querys. $30 is nothing to support an activity that gets me out of the house and gives hours of enjoyment.

  4. If your a premium member and get the pocket querys. You can import the GPX file directly into access. Change the extension to .xml and the file can be imported. I was able to do it easily with Access 2002. There were some error but I think you can fine tune those out.
