  1. I am in the same boat. I have had no problems in the past, I even have a rule so they dump in a specific folder, and nothing. I NEED TO GO CACHING, PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME PRINT PAGES ARRRG!
  2. Why only the one set instead of all the sets then?? With that line of thinking, why didn't we just put all 1000 coins up for charity auction? PLEASE LOCK THIS THREAD.
  3. You guys can get up on your pulpit all you want and sling mud, but our local cachers have nothing but praise for us stepping up to the plate and getting this coin made before someone in (insert state here) did it first. Groups got a GREAT price, AND they got them when they came out. And for those who dislike the $20 LE price: Guess what, they're gone! You don't have to worry your little heads about them anymore. Bronze and Silver are left. $8.50 each shipped. Thank you again for your business. BTW, we made "so much" extra money off these, we are sitting on the moon right now with Bill Gates sipping champange. I SERIOUSLY hope that you are all not boycotting the charity auction because you don't believe in how we handled our coins. It has nothing to do with us and everything to do with the children. I have nothing further to say about this matter, go ahead and bash away.
  4. Yeah, I send all of the ones I have activated (I don't collect at all, actually) and 1 has gone dark. The rest are in the hands of people, and I have no idea if they will ever get dropped again. It's pretty sad, but it happens to some of the cooler TBs too. It's unfortunate there isn't more honesty in the community I can understand that some stuff gets lost, don't get me wrong. But some scoop and keep - which stinks. If you get a coin and its unactivated, its yours. If you get one and its activated - move it along!
  5. And as promised: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8393913001 Here is the charity auction for the full set including the LE 100/100 (the last coin minted). 100% of the proceeds go to Boundless Playgrounds here in CT. Nonprofit's Mission Statement For every child, a place to play:Every child! Every ability! Everywhere! Boundless Playgrounds is the first national nonprofit dedicated to helping communities create extraordinary playgrounds where all children, with and without disabilities, can develop essential skills for life as they learn together through play. Please bid high and bid often and show these people what the Geocaching Community is all about! Thanks again, everyone.
  6. OK. 14 Gold available. 13 LE available. Silver and Bronze are still in a fairly healthy supply.
  7. We appreciate the input, but not so much the "Let's bash the CT coin prices again". We are not here to debate the market value of the coin. They sold quite well on eBay, thank you very much, and we always said that eBay was not going to be the be all and end all of the availability. We always said they would be available on the forums after we dictated the eBay market - instead of selling the coins here for $8.50 and having others sell them for $30 each. We very much appreciate everyone's business. More people have bought the coins, and thanked us for our hard work, than complained about the price. Thank you all again. I will give an update on quantities shortly. Gold and LE are almost gone.
  8. These are the same coins that were on eBay. They are now available on the forums for a discounted rate.
  9. We did not reorder, nor will we ever. The quantities stand at 1000 total coins minted. 400 Bronze 300 Silver 200 Gold 100 Gold/Color LE These are left from the original batch.
  10. OK we have 24 LEs and only 46 Gold left. We still have a fair supply of Bronze and Silver. Thank you all again for your business.
  11. Color LE's are now available. We only have 30, first come first serve. If we oversell, refunds will be issued.
  12. Firefox (PPC) seems to be working ok here. I also tested: IE (x86), Maxthon (x86) and Safari (PPC and Unibin).
  13. I think you are! Please email me directly (bry at ctgeocoin dot com), and I can get you sorted out. BTW, this is a new domain and maybe some of the DNS servers havent been updated yet or something? (probably talking out my sitting end..)
  14. Yes the colored LEs will be available very shortly. We are trying to come up with a fair price and we need to get our quantites sorted (Numbers 1 and 100 will be sold as a full set, etc).
  15. Wow sit tight. It seems that the site is getting hammered. I have already gotten quite a few people checked out. Be persistant, and patient at the same time?
  16. We said it was going to happen. And here it is! The 2005 Connecticut Geocoins are now available to forum members directly! We currently have Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Gold/Color LE. Quantities are limited, so act fast! www.ctgeocoin.com We will also sell to groups (who have been patiently waiting), so contact me directly (bry at ctgeocoin dot com) if you need volume pricing. If you want to pay with a method other than PayPal, just email us at the above address and we can work out a postal option. Thank you all again for your business.
  17. Yeah, and after coming home from a relaxing night out and finding 57 new emails you can bet I am going to WANT to retire after this. I will get through them ASAP. I have a very busy weekend ahead of me, but I WILL ANSWER EVERY SINGLE ONE, PLEASE BE PATIENT!!
  18. Thanks again everyone! I am trying to get back to everyone ASAP so please be patient. I am going to hear the *BING DONG* Outlook sound in my dreams tonite!
  19. Actually this is all incorrect. There are 5 people involved with the project (all cachers). They have been sold on eBay, a local event (so far), and to forum members. There have been some released to the wild as well (most haven't been activated yet - but they will be). -Bryan
  20. They are being sold. It is a trackable coin. I can assure you that this isn't the case. The only ones that are going in caches locally (for free) are the few that the ones involved in the investing are keeping for themselves to be used as FTF prizes. We have worked with a few people around the country to get activated coins to their areas to travel around (one is leaving for the West Coast today, actually). Whether or not they get stolen is up to the honesty of the finder, which no one can control - no matter how available the coins are. Unfortunately, the same can be said for any unactivated coin by any maker that is put into a cache.
  21. I can understand some of the concerns here. Please let me raise a few points. I really don't want this thread to be taken over as the CT Geocoin thread. 1) The price WILL come down. Right now it is in more of the "I NEED IT FIRST AND NOW" area. 2) Shipping is to cover costs of packaging, shipping and TIME. Also note that it is set for worldwide shipping too. It was also a "test the waters" area as A LOT of others have $5 shipping. When you have many thousands of dollars on the line, you get a little worried if it is going to come back. You don't want to start hemorrhaging money right off the bat by taking a hit on shipping. We are going to try to institute a rated shipping cost based on where it is shipping to that isn't as confusing as the eBay shipping calculator. 3) The multiple variations were made for a couple of reasons. Some people don't like the look of the silver and gold - therefore less were made. Some want the color and numbered for collecting - only 100 were made of those because we didn't see a lot of people caring for a coin that was number 453/1000. It didn't make sense. 4) There will be more available once we get everything more streamlined - which will drive the price down. We aren't out to cripple anyone financially, but a profit never hurt anyone. There will be dutch auctions in the near future. I absolutely agree to vote with your wallet! We do the same, as we have paid some obscene amounts for coins that we had to have, and passed on the ones that we didn't value. In time they came down and we obtained them then. I appreciate the feedback on this. This is the first coin we have done, and would like to do more if possible. What isn't possible is hanging out another $5000+ on multiple credit cards (we hate the "preorder method" - it's unreliable). If we are able to profit from this, it is possible to make another coin if this doesn't turn into more work than fun. I don't appreciate attacks on our character. Nothing further will be said on that matter. It all comes down to this. If someone doesn't see the value in it, then it isn't purchased. I know it all seems scary right now, but I can assure you that we aren't going to make a heck of a lot of money on these. Yeah, the first few may go for a lot, but we give A LOT away - as well as some released to the wild. The price will be driven down, and those that are interested in the coin for a reasonable cost will be able to get them. After all, there will be 1000 physical coins out there.
  22. Northwest corner of CT may be interesting that weekend.
