  1. I have looked at these three units till I am blue in the face. Everytime I am about convinced to pay the money for one of the two better units I find a bad review for them and a new review saying how roch solid the 350 is. I have a 60cx I use for caching, but it is a bit cumbersome in the car so I am looking for an automotive nav model. It always seems to me that you are better off paying a bit more up front than regretting what you bought later. But in this case am I paying 100 bucks for more problems? Heaven knows you can get a lemon no matter what but, your opinions please?
  2. Cache resulting from your good imput. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...c5-121da6e9a45b
  3. Seems that dog treats per say are uncool and other dog items would be cool. Thanks for the responses!
  4. Runaway growth may of been better terminology than uncontrolled. For there are no controls available. At first I skimmed over a bit of the old thread and was going to reply. However I thought better of that and went back and read the entire thread. Good thing too because on top of what I had already written, as well as anything I might of added, was certainly covered there. I have worried a little about the CB radio syndrome since I started caching. Having been in that hobby prior to the events mentioned in the other thread I had a front row seat for its destruction. Locally as far as I can tell it never has recovered to what it once was. Hopefully geocaching will just stay on the nice gentle growth curve it is experiencing now.
  5. I think a bigger threat to geocaching is uncontrolled growth. Like say the CB radio fad of the late 70's.
  6. Does anyone know of any micro SD card brands that conflict with Garmin products?
  7. I like the highlight color idea on the cache page. But something that also might be handy would be the addition of a two or three word description of each trackable item on the cache page when the name alone doesn’t say it all (Who is Floppy anyway). Whether you are a clip board fan or carrying a PDA user this would often times help with a quick inventory of said items as you log the cache. That way MIAs could be reported and the homeless bugs could be properly checked in.
  8. Nope visa versa. I mean, on the GSAK main screen, when I receive the waypoints I have "marked" with my GPSr, the comments from the waypoint properties land in the (GSAK) column marked name. The actual name I gave the waypoint when I marked it with my GPSr turns up in the column that is marked as code. In other words, my Garmin by default places the date as a comment in the waypoint properties when I mark one. By the time this waypoint gets to my PC in the GSAK software the date is what appears to be the name of the waypoint, and consequently stays that way once I send it back to the unit. Where do you change the %smart and %code settings? I am certain I have seen that somewhere, but for the life of me I can't now find it either in the software or GSPr settings.
  9. I am fairly certain this is operator error. But when recieving waypoints from my Garmin GPSmap 60, GSAK places the waypoint name in the code column and the comments into the name column. Can someone help me with a fix?
