  1. When I look at my Trackable page I noticed there is a log for Japan. We have never been to Japan and this trackable has never been there either. I want to delete this log and fix the mileage traveled. Can someone help me with this? Please!
  2. It is perfectly okay with Geocaching.com to put out a "copy" of any travelers that have been LOST. I too have had a lot of lots trackers and it is very discouraging. I had an instance where I tracked down the person who picked up my traveler but didn't log it. It was a mother with young children and she told me that her 8 year old son really like the Gecko so he had it. When I explained how these were handled she said he must of lost it. After we went back and forth for a while she told me to not ever contact me again or she would report me for harassment. I decided that it was not worth it to pursue any longer and got a key chain from Zazzle which I will send out as a COPY. I have done this to over a dozen of my travelers and no one has commented negatively about this. I did ask the powers that be if it was okay and they assured me it was but I should wait for at least a year. Seems a long time but it goes fast. GOOD LUCK
  3. I just taught Mr Seashore609 how to post finds but didn't think to show him how to make sure he was recording this find on the correct cache. As a result there were several caches logged at the incorrect GC code. It was easy to delete this find but how to I correct the mileage of the travel bugs/coins that didn't actually "visit" the cache in Spain but one in Az?
  4. I think being able to post both the drop and pick up on the same page would be very helpful and maybe keep more bugs from get lost. Then when someone says they are missing from the cache you should be able to go to the trackable page and see who picked it up. I know I currently have about 15 missing and this would be very helpful.
  5. Yesterday (1/28/2012) I was trying to load a new Pocket Query to my GeomateJr and when I clicked on the destop icon the computer came up with "Can not find mygeomate.com. After much research I found when you clicked on the icon there was a message that read: Dear Geomate.jr Community What can we say - this good thing has come to an end. We are no longer able to offer the Geomate.jr for sale or continue the Update Zone service. We do hope you've had as much fun geocaching as we've had working with everyone. To help keep the adventures happening however, we have made some software available here that will allow anyone with an Update Kit and a PC to load a Pocket Query from Geocaching.com to a Geomate.jr. Regrettably, The Geomate.jr Team The "HERE" in the second paragraph was underlined and when I clicked on that the Norton program would not let me download this Update Kit. I uploaded to my SanDisk and when I tried to open it Norton deleted it from there. I turned off Norton, downloaded the file and when I turned Norton back on the file was erased. PLEASE HELP me get around the Norton problem because my husband really enjoys using the GeomateJr and he does not want to try to learn a new GPS. He has some problem with his memory since his heart attack in May.
  6. How do you record a visit? I have a wonderful TB but it is way too big to put in 90% of the hides we find in the area we live and I would like to show that it did visit this site.
  7. We too lost a travel bug. It was put in a new cache that we created and the cache with TB disappeared. Guess the evil muggle found it. Can't imagine why anyone would be so mean as to steal caches and TBs.
  8. How do I add pictures to a trackable that I found? The owner wanted pictures of places you took their trackable and I can't find how to upload. I have uploaded pictures easily to my own trackables but can't seem to find where I do it on someone elses.
  9. We placed a FTF in my daughter's cache. Someone claimed it in their log but never logged it in. I have sent 2 e-mails requesting they do this but nothing has happened nor have they responded. What recourse do I have? This coin was on a mission to travel to CT where my daughter is buried and then return to the family here. It makes me very sad that it has not moved. Had to let off some steam.
  10. My husband and I just started Geocaching and really enjoy it. We are senior citizens on a fixed income and find this very affordable and can pick caches the meet our limited abilities - unable to walk long distances or climb up or down. We started when we were out of town and saw many things we would not have found without the cache listings. Find we have to hold off a little in this hot weather but can get one in very early now and then. Can't wait for the cooler mornings to return so we can go out again.
  11. My husband and I love this but we seem to not do too well. We have borrowed a GPS that we can't put in anything but addresses so we use the maps available at Geocaching.com, set the GPS to show long/lat and just search around when we get the coordinates to match. (We convert to decimal reading on the cache page) Today we went out and found one fairly easy and looked around for over an hour and never found the other. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.
