  1. Since this is a database, once something is entered it is in forever. I did a quick look-see. The cache is not archived, only disabled. It will show at the top of your "My Profile" page in that state. You have two options as people have said here. If you log the cache and choose "Archive", it will go away from the top of your profile page for good. You can also change it up completely, but then you have to "Enable" it so the reviewer can see it again. Once published or archived, it will get it off of the top of your profile page.
  2. It is the geocaching.com address, not Groundspeak.com. FYI. Andronicus is correct that Geocaching.com will help you if your find is a valid one. If you sign the logbook you get a smiley.
  3. ACK! I just made the mistake of clicking the "Your Logs" link. Holy Hamster Meltdown Batman! I have a few more logs than the average cacher. Like say 67,306. Yeah. Published, archived, disabled, enabled, everything. It locked up both Firefox windows I had open to the point of going to Task Manager. You might want to change that to just "Found" or completely kill that one. Sorry if I brought the hamsters to their knees for a few minutes. They needed a stress test anyway, right?
  4. Amen. Love this one, though I always edit it to remove the "GCXXXX" and "GC" default values, which only get in the way. the name changed, which made it take a while for me to figure out how to do that, though!Second, I know scripts can be edited, and I could probably figure it out, but can someone tell me how I could add Upload Field Notes to the "Your Stuff" drop-down? I was just coming in to suggest that a link be added to the field notes page. Since I use the Android app that would be a cool shortcut link to have. Either link would be beneficial, both would be way cool.
  5. Indeed. There just does not seem to be enough ways to say...
  6. In one of the ones I closed, I referred you to the Feedback site. Re-posting topics here over and over will not get an answer from the right people. All it does is take away from time that the moderators could be geocaching. Keep that in mind for future reference. The people that can resolve your issues frequent the Feedback site much more than they frequent the general forums here. FYI.
  7. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Two certain volunteer global mods probably loved seeing hamsters AND admin bricks AND MissJenn all in the same video. But alas, they have the memories. I'll sell ya a screen capture. PM me. Heh. Screen capture. I've already pulled the whole video off YouTube in 720 and put it on my iPod Touch.
  8. You should post in the Feedback area probably. http://feedback.geocaching.com/forums/75277-geocaching-for-iphone
  9. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Two certain volunteer global mods probably loved seeing hamsters AND admin bricks AND MissJenn all in the same video. But alas, they have the memories.
  10. I can't use P-word either? A little guidance please? SHEESH! I'm NOT intentionally violating TOS. Your guidance is found within the Geocoin Forum. Some guy named Rothstafari wrote the post. It has only been there since January 2006. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=120445 Check the first bullet point. Also the last one he added. I am interested in your project as a geocacher and not a moderator. I would just love to see my trackable move and be seen by others. My Falcon Loader Admin Brick still moves to this day. Pretty much all of my others are gone. I think yours will also keep moving so my brickage will be able to be spotted along the way.
  11. I might throw a brick at that. Keystone can throw a brick at your topic if he wants.
  12. I'll close this one since you have a duplicate topic in Getting Started. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=273388
  13. http://coord.info/GC23ZP8 Easy to find that one. My suggestion would be to remove the cache. There is a house across the street. Cachers are probably pulling off on the west side of the road to park in some instances. That sure does appear to be the property of that house. In this case, she would appear to be right and is probably tired of people stopping there at all hours.
  14. It is more fun to bump it every now and then.
  15. You asked... I gave you a reason "why not". If you are OK with being put on ignore by your friends, the FB and Tweet away.
  16. What I take from that is that you basically want a special icon to try to bolster interest and attendance. GeoWoodstock is pretty huge. I don't know what the final total was last year, but it had to be around 4,000 or something. I don't know if it or any Mega event "brand" needs its own icon, but who knows. The slippery slope begins of what it takes to get that icon and maintaining that level, yadda yadda. Edited to clarify: Groups of cachers submit proposals for the honor of hosting GeoWoodstock to the original organizers of the "brand" and it sustains itself without any help from Groundspeak. So does Midwest Geobash. So does Geocoin Fest. Why can't this concept? I don't understand why Groundspeak has to be involved I guess.
  17. Greetings Matt and welcome. I posted on page one about something you should think about as you have an auto-publish cross posting on FB. If you are out on a cache run, you destroy the news feed for all of the people on your friends list. Why do you think they care about every single cache you find? This is what I posted.
  18. The coin that you won for that is a non trackable garmin 62 series coin. The only site that the coin has on it is garmin.com/geocache. It was cool to win one though. I never said I won a coin from them. I commented that they were giving away coins trackable on this site. If I am incorrect, it would not be the first time. I have been a long time, die hard Garmin supporter and user. I have owned 3 yellow eTrex units, a Vista, a 60CSx, an Oregon and a Nuvi for the car. I own two versions of MapSource so I could get turn by turn street maps on my 60CSx and Oregon, plus I owned Topo Maps for my Vista. The fact that they opened this site has disappointed me so much that I will never buy anything from them ever again. My next GPS will be a DeLorme.
  19. The 26 page topic about the other site that is still open here shows quite the opposite. Just the other day I asked people to go look at Navicache if you want to see what a featureless, stagnant geocache site looks like. The other sites are competing with Geocaching.com in my eyes. I do love that in their ad promoting their own site, the Garmin GPS in the ad has a Geocaching.com cache page open on it as Isonzo Karst pointed out. Giving away geocoins that can only be tracked on Geocaching.com to try to get people to list new caches on their site is too funny. Priceless.
  20. I can't understand what they are talking about their post makes no sence. SS It is obvious that English is the OP's second language. I think we can get the gist of what they are saying. No need to bust on the language issue. Yeah, no kidding!! I'm going through this, thinking, some of these are the people that often bash the forum regulars for being rude? Geeze! The OP is not speaking in his native language, obviously, and very possibly using a Google translation, at that. Boy, the moderators get cranky when we see people make rude comments about people from non-English speaking countries not being able to speak perfect English. What might be worse is when someone points out bad spelling from someone who does speak English as their first language. But we won't go there, will we. Agustín, welcome to the forums and please do not let those that do not understand get you down. Thank you for being a Premium Member.
  21. Bumping back to the first page of the forums for the weekend rush.
  22. Here is the topic that has remained open with more information. I might bump it as I close this one since it is now on page 2. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=272744
  23. Within an HOUR? I'd bet we can narrow that down to under 5 minutes! Heh. I was thinking I would probably need to request a day off from work and do a quick refresher on my Evelyn Wood Reading Dynamics Course. Keystone is busy testing the mod group's flack jackets by telling the new corp of hamsters that they look like a bunch of squirrels. It hasn't been pretty over there, but so far the Groundspeak issued body armor is holding up well.
  24. I hate to say it, but there is one too many topics about too many micros. Please refer to the post linked by the other canine with cool eye-wear.
  25. They have been saying they have had enormous site traffic increases. Performance issues are related to that, and the upgrades will hopefully take care of some of that issue. I've been watching for the smoke signals, but it is a long way from Seattle to Minneapolis. They tried that once. Didn't they? I think Nate was in charge of bringing the marshmallows. Oh, yeah. Thanks for the reminder! You can skip the smoke signals, fellas!! Now that's funny. LOL. I will say that some of us have seen the new look and I like it. Some will, some won't. Some things will break probably despite testing. It is inevitable. At least they are doing these updates well before Memorial Day weekend. I think the last upgrade was last year right before the holiday. I am ready to roll with the change and try to keep a positive outlook. It has to happen to keep things moving forward so let's make the best of it and keep a positive outlook.
