  1. I don't plan on hiding a cache in its place but I just scored a cache that had been archived nearly five years ago. After that long I figured the owner wasn't interested in his geo-junk so I CITO'ed it. And managed to resurrect one my trackables to boot. :-)
  2. I am well versed on the fact that I don't need data to successfully cache in Europe. I've done it before. I don't need data. I desire data. My question was specific in that I am looking for opinions on one of these catch-all SIM cards based on a path between Amsterdam and Austria.
  3. I am not sure if it's allowed to post a link to Amazon. I am not selling anything rather looking to buy. Anyone have any experience with these 3-in-1 European SIM cards? I am looking at a possible multiple country trip this summer and wanted to know if anyone has an experience with something like this. https://www.amazon.com/Cellhire-Prepaid-Europe-Data-Card/dp/B017HVV2FG/ref=br_lf_m_eyy9dectrpjk4br_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&s=wireless I traveled to Spain a couple of years ago and bought a Spain specific SIM card at the airport. It worked well but was very expensive. And I never left Spain where I needed data. This trip will span from Amsterdam to Austria. Thoughts?
  4. Yeah, I agree. It's usually the same people complaining about dredged up threads that usually post links to old threads when someone wants to start a thread on a topic well discussed. [Sigh]
  5. I don't hate micros. I just hate poorly listed/rated micros or micros with bad coordinates.
  6. I'd still bet money that more cheat than not, especially as the streak gets longer and longer.
  7. Yep. Here in cold and snowy Minnesota, all of us use variations of #2 and #3 for the attribute. Winter friendly means it's either above the snow or easily findable in the snow.
  8. This is my goal as well. While I have cached in 48 states, I have found the oldest caches in 39 of those 48 states.
  9. Like I keep saying, everyone I know that streaks has cheated.. no matter how much they lie in saying they didn't. My longest streak was 174 days before I decided it was a stupid idea (for me).
  10. I am trying to figure out why the coods send me up to Kamloops, BC..
  11. I use Eneloop Pros and have never found better (yet).
  12. I've cached in all lower 48 plus DC. Alaska is on my short list. Hawaii will take more effort.. it's a long paddle in a 12' kayak.
  13. I personally don't have a problem with the concept at a high level, until it comes to statistics aspect of it. If someone gets a one-up on their events attended I really don't care. But if they add a new county, state, country, etc that they had not yet physically visited, that's the problem I have with it. And I cannot reconcile why I have a problem with one concept but not the other..
  14. I am not seeing 77 or so caches all from a single cache owner where some are now archived. I get to Ohio often so I want to know which cacher I need to avoid.
  15. Jeez, you wouldn't have liked caching back when I started. You probably would have found yourself writing long logs and hiking further than the nearest lamppost. Oh the humanity.
  16. Sometimes the toughest thing to do is to know when not to respond.
  17. All I have to say is that there does appear to be some dude being a real jerk to you. But why dwell on it? Just go find more caches.
  18. I know some of us are geocaching purists but this takes it to a whole different level. :-)
  19. I'll join the brag-fest. I am holding out for Andorra.
  20. It was a rhetorical statement to webcam cache owners. Last I checked you are not one. And I realize you're a defacto geocaching expert because you're here in the forums 24 hours a day. But that doesn't mean every post where you find some weak spot needs to be responded to. Sometimes the hardest thing one can do is to know when not to respond.
  21. Interesting. "Tribalism" is the latest word-of-the-season that folks with a certain political affiliation use to insult members of the opposite political affiliation. I am taken aback when I see it making its way into other realms of every day life, such as geocaching.
  22. Ha, I've never used anything other than the scroll wheel. Once in a while I'll actually click on the +- buttons, but never from the keyboard.
  23. In all reality, some of us don't have the physical ability to phoon. Give me other options.
