  1. Quick suggestion. Since you have been wanting to do this on Twitter, just send out a tweet with an email address. The first 120 people, or whatever the number, that email with their Name, address and paypal email account get the coin. Then send out the paypal invoices. Limit it to one per household. Heck break it in to 2 sales of X number of people so if someone isn't around for the first, maybe they will get in on the second one.

Selling them on eBay you will pay 11% fees on the final value , plus the insertion fees. Bad enough having to pay the Paypal fees.

  2. The closest block you can do to limit it to one is-

Buyers who may bid on several of my items and not pay for them-

Block buyers who are currently winning or have bought 1 of my items in the last 10 days.

But once they pay, I believe they can go back and buy another.

  3. I just got mine in today. The first time for me to see them in person. Here are the pictures of the LE I had made. 1 is going to Team Kizb. And a couple of others to friends. I only had 10 of them made. This was my first attempt at designing a geocoin. I can see how it can be addicting. LOL

Hopefully they will be up for sale soon. I will post when they are up and available.

Thanks again for everyone that bought.

  4. Well we have a winner of the LE. Only one guess was exact. Team Kizb with 24 years!

I ran the rest of the post numbers through a random number generator and came up with 2 more winners from all the rest of the guesses. Mickebush77 and The Skylark Four each will get one of the regular editions.

Thanks everyone for playing and the well wishes. Quitting smoking is one of the hardest things to do. You have to be ready to do it and having a good support group is important. If you are thinking about stopping, I will be more than glad to offer up some tips.

    Presales end today.

  5. What types have there been in the past?

I've had a Travel Bug attached to my GeoTruck key ring for awhile now and have now attached one of my personal Geocoin samples to it as well.

Have others done this as well, or has a Geocoin ever been designed for this purpose?

This One has been out since early this year.

  6. Vendor : The Cache Shack.

    Coin : Geo Trek Coin

    2 orders :

    08/30/2010 (Can't open a dispute since it's been more than 45 days)

09/21/2010 (Will probably open a dispute soon)

Shipment due : A long time ago.

First order was never sent out until I contacted them a month later.

    They replied after 3 e-mails.

They decided to ship both orders together since I contacted them a few days after I made the second order.

I was refunded the shipping fees on my first order.

The thing is I haven't received the combined shipment yet.

I've sent another 3 e-mails within the last 2 weeks and I've never had any answer from them.

Anyone had any problems with The Cache Shack before ?

I also ordered a Geo Trek Coin from The Cache Shack on 9/31/10. Haven't received the coin. Have left message on their voice mail and alos sent an email. I received no response to either so I opened a dispute.

I had issues with them but did a Paypal dispute within my time line. Others have had issues recently too.

  7. We just finalized the LE version last night. Sorry no pictures. But it will be a 2 Tone. I would like to start a cointest for 3 lucky people to win a free coin. One of those 3 will win the the LE version.

The cointest will run through Sunday night at midnight EST. One guess per person. All people who guess the correct number will be put in to the drawing. Post your guess here in the forums in full years. No months are needed since I do not remember the exact date I started.

Besides my first geocoin, this is a very important week for me. It is my one month anniversary for being smoke free. I figured if I could make it to one month without smoking, I would be done with them for good. So here is your question. How many years did I smoke before finally wising up and quitting? The only hint I will give is that I was born in the 60's. I hate that it took me this long to finally stop. But for those who do/did smoke, you understand how hard it is to do.

Presales end on the 1st. Thanks for playing!

  8. Hello Everyone!

I used to cache a lot more than I do now. I really miss getting out and doing some of the long hikes I used to. But since I lost some nerves in one leg, it makes it more difficult. But I definitely love to keep up with geocaching and I have been a rampant geocoin collector for years. So this summer, Luckie5892 and I put together the 2010 Indiana Geocoin. You can go to the following link for more information on it and how to order one. I hope you like it!

    Indiana 2010 Geocoin

  9. Well this is my first post as a designer. Luckie5892 and I have put together the 2010 Indiana Geocoin.

When putting the coin together it was important for me to pick out the things that I liked so much about geocaching. The covered bridges here in Indiana are one of my favorite areas to visit and there are so many geocaches close to or on them. Many of them have ammo cans which we all love to find. The Indianapolis area that I am from is known for having a few small auto races now and then. Well there has been more then once I felt like I ws in a race car either trying to get the FTF or with some other die hard cacher that had to get 100 caches or more in a day.

I also wanted to honor those older caches that had endured the test of time in Indiana. So the other side of the coin has, well at least at the time of design, the 8 oldest, active caches of the different types from across the state.

It is now on Presale at coinsandpins.com through November 1st.

  10. Been there. Did this. If it was a small order, 1 or 2 geocoins, that could have been overlooked by the buyer, I would replace the shipment or refund, within 90 days. If it was a bigger order where I would think someone might be more cognisant that they put out a lot of money for several coins, then I would not swallow the refund outside of 90 days. They should have noticed sooner and said something.

Drawing the line is not always an easy thing. But 60 days is a pretty good line that you have for holding the forms. Maybe from here on out throw them in a shoebox and throw it in the closet. But they usually only show leaving the US and nothing after that any way.

In the end you have to go with your gut. It's never as black and white as we like to think. At 7 months, if it was me, I would not refund even if it is a few geocoins. It's way too long out of my hands.

  11. I talked to Aaron last night. They have no luck with technology and the people who run their websites. They were having issues with their IP address. Seems the one they were given was blacklisted. They were switching some website hosting around and one company jumped the gun and pulled the site down before they were supposed to. And now this. I have contacted him about the latest issue.

Sometimes the problems just keep coming one after another. He keeps pushing through though.

  12. I recently went through the same thing with them in June/July. Had to file with Paypal to get my money back. They never responded to emails through store or profile or the Paypal dispute. Keep trying to email them but don't let your 45 days go by if you paid by Paypal.

  13. I am guessing it is Regions of Germany geocoin. It was done by www.cachezone.de. It looks like there were several versions of it. Does it look like this or similar? Regions

Sorry the link is not coming out right. Just take the http through Imgwindow and paste it in to your browser.

  14. When you mentioned the purple/black nickel my first thoughts were of the storms that would send many a sailor to Davey Jones Locker. I thought of Calypso from the Pirates of the Carribean. So three ideas came to mind-

    Calypso's Revenge

    The Wrath of Calypso

    or just The Calypso Version

  15. I would love to have a reason to return to Montana. Was once there for a wedding. Flew in to Bozeman and the wedding was in Livingston. Some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen. It was also the first time I went Prairie Dog hunting and was passed by a tumbleweed while walking down the street. LOL
