  1. Just wondering why the images are modified to obliterate the back side? My pair of coins don't look like the photos
  2. They must be selling more of these than they anticipated when they generated the rebate form! Not a bad problem to have.
  3. If you use GSAK to load your waypoints, you can set it up to show the name up to 14 characters that the 60Csx can use. Once the waypoints/geocaches are loaded into the GPSr that is the name of the waypoint. Using GSAK as mentioned is a great way to get the names to be representative of the geocache names.
  4. Do you have the battery setting set to the appropriate battery type? I have no idea if having the GPSr thinking that the batteries are alkalines when they are actually Lithium Ion would have an effect like you described, but it is worth making sure the setting is consistent with the installed batteries.
  5. That's pretty cool! I was surprised to find that the building that is listed as being in Portland was actually north of the Columbia River
  6. Happy Festivus (for the rest of us)! And a Merry Christmas in case you're not into Festivus
  7. The Pessac, France TB arrived in my mailbox a few days ago. The nearest cache to it's destination is 11 miles away. Maybe I should go over to the Bordeaux region and place a few new caches
  8. The other brand's (SanDisk) card is only $22.95 before the $10 google rebate. $12.95 is not a lot more than $10 net cost for the Kingston card.
  9. With only about 50 remaining caches still active it seems likely that.... wait a minute! 50 active caches!?! Why the panic again?
  10. My experience is that they each have a custom-fitted connector (admittedly limited experience)
  11. yeah, but its a LOT. You really won't hit the limit unless you're trying to load the whole US. The GPS V limitation of 19MB of maps is reason enough to upgrade (not to mention that it takes 1 hour to load the 19MB on the serial line, and much less to load the entire US City Select via the USB on the 60csx). RK, I think you're being a little disingenuous in your earlier post The form-factor of the V is tough to give up though!
  12. Me too. Cell phone and credit card As recently experienced in the great blackout of 2006, that doesn't work well in large blanketed black out areas. Cell phones barely made the grade unless you were close enough to a working tower and no guarantee of getting on them then with the saturation levels. Credit cards were worth their weight in value in stores that had no power. I suppose I could have grabbed a hat and flipped them into it from 10 feet away. I thought we were talking about abandoning the car in a city All of King County and more was blacked out. That includes many cities and towns including Seattle and Bellevue to just name a couple familiar towns. My car continued to operate throughout the power outage. It never occurred to me to abandon it when the lights went out. Yeah, I know about gas pumps requiring power, but on the guaranteed 1/2 tank of gas you'd have at any given moment you could drive a long way (unless you drive an H2). just in case you have't picked up on it, I am just having a little fun with this thread.

  14. Is the battery type on the 60CSx set to Lithium Ion?
  15. As mentioned above it is more versatile to get the software from the source and have it on the computer for versatility. But the fully-loaded micro-SD card looks mighty convenient!
  16. That means 42,000 miles of them are dirt! Now I see why an old friend of mine always referred to his home state as if it were an acronym for: I Oughta Went Around
  17. I guess all coin sales are on hold untill then. Be careful, you could pull a muscle making jumps like that!
  18. Some sort of social experiment spearheaded by the major gasoline suppliers. how much will sales go up the 2 weeks before Christmas if we make them think supply is low. then we can really jack the price up.
  19. The cacher in question hasn't been on the site in 4 months. They haven't logged a find in 15 months. While it is a frequent technique to attempt to find people via the local forums (and replies like the one above are typical) I doubt it helps much. Anyway, at least one of their finds was in Olympia in case someone from that area recognizes the cacher's name.
  20. On the satellite page hit menu. Select the first entry "Use with GPS off" Sorry you had to wait so long for a reply. People must be online shopping at work instead of reading the forums.
  21. Or just wait for the regular price to drop. The prices on these things don't go up. Ever.
  22. Me too. Cell phone and credit card
  23. Just in case you were all wondering. Just because Klossner doesn't imbibe doesn't mean we don't like him. In fact we count on him to do any of the puzzle solving that may be necessary!
  24. Sparkles and snowflakes! I love it! Thanks to the mystery Santa OK - not as glamorous as LoriDarlin's, but it's the best I can do!
