  1. For us in the U.S. what is the expected price in dollars? 2.5" is probably too big for my tastes. But the right design might work at that size. I'd rather they look more coin-like than plaque-on-the-wall-like. ;-)
  2. The thread title and the content of the OP seem at odds... Maybe the mods can add a strategic "r" to the title
  3. It seems kinda funny now that nobody suggested Rusty might be responsible
  4. If I may, I would like to suggest a spelling adjustment... Red Kneck Coin #1 That is a coin I'd love to find in a cache! And move along of course.
  5. Holy carp - why didn't I think of that? (I have two never-activated cache pages already ) Great idea
  6. ... and then someone will have the coin made...
  7. Good advice RK. This technique at least lets the finder find something other than what they could see on their computer screen (a picture of a coin). I like this 10, no 20 times better.
  8. Forget the diplomacy angle of "the coins look great as is". You'll be happier with them fixed. The coins will go from being "quite nice" to "Exceptionally nice" with the fix. The sign looks broken in the current version, rather than extending below the surface. Samples are for approving the final product. You shouldn't have to pay any extra for the mint to set-up the die properly. The artwork seems to indicate the way you wanted it in the first place. Nice design.
  9. Glad to hear things worked out and that Mikey is fine. It was kind of weird to see mention of the Junior high school that I attended in 9th grade (the first "graduating" class of the brand new school), along with the woods that I did some of my running in until we moved to the Shoreline area. I haven't lived there in a long time but I sure had some vivid visual memories of the area after reading the OP.
  10. I think the biggest problem will be that the contents of the caches that receive these coins will most likely ignite, and consequently destroying the log book. I wonder how long they stay hot?
  11. send me an email with a trade offer
  12. jaredl, meet glennk721 glennk721, meet jaredl
  13. Not available to Australians? I cut-n-pasted your quoted string (without the quotes) and found both sales.
  14. These events are occurring at an alarming rate
  15. This seems to give some hope to the others that are missing these coins. Keep hounding him!!
  16. It's been over an hour since FlyinV posted - what's taking so long?? It's only 10 miles
  17. I don't know the name, but I do know that the quality of the coin has almost as much to do with the spec's that you provide to the factory as does the choice of factory. You need to know what to tell them in order to get the quality you want.
  18. My personal coins are not trackable on this site, but are on my own site. The Oregon 2003 coins I placed are not trackable here - but are trackable on another site. Close to 100 of those two coins have been placed by me. Sorry to those who hunt icons. I only place coins
  19. But your coin is not traveling. not only that but... TeamRJJO hasn't seen the Last Supper painting any more than I have by looking at this jpeg file
  20. They used the germane website. Wow, that coin IS trackable after all Isn't that exactly what it is? Most of us use geocaches to pass it along. Maybe we need to think outside "the box".
  21. I traded a GW3 and one of my polished nickel pdxmarathonman LEs for 11 coins. 2 for 11 - (and I think we were both thrilled with the trade).
  22. I somehow selected 3 as my lucky number when I was a kid. My birthday is on the 3rd. The month is September which is the 9th month (3x3). And my parents had 3 kids (and as it turns out so do I). Often lately I end up looking for 11 or 17, which are the days my kids were born (guess which of those two numbers are the "1's" that the twins were born!)
  23. I can't believe our government is so incompetent that they can't even figure out how to issue permits themselves. This seems reasonable to me. When greedy climbers reserve 4, 5 or even 6 dates it kind of locks out others from reserving those dates even though said climber is only going to use one of the 6 permits If there is a small fee, maybe fewer permits would be reserved, making it fairer to all.
  24. I got the following response from the Backcountry Ranger to my question about the recent activity reported on the mountain and the fact that I have a permit for July 2nd: I have permits for 4 other dates as well He declined to address my inquiry regarding the bidding of the contract
