  1. Or both? I never noticed the print button. May come in handy when I turn this stuff over to the feds...
  2. You could go to your controls; board settings; and set it ('posts to show per topic page') so each page has 9999 posts per page, then print the whole thing. Might work. - Nevermind... checked.. max is 50.
  3. Two more excellent points. Another note: I always try to bump up a similar subject. I use the search feature. It wasn't my thread. Here's my excellent related thread on the subject: Other side I just wanted to make a point, and rant a little. Overmoderation irks me. But I don't pay the bills.
  4. Last post in respective threads: Mar 8, 2004 Feb 5, 2004 Jul 24, 2004 Feb 28, 2005 Jan 21, 2005 Nov 30, 2004 Jan 21, 2004 Now, someone should go, lock all those, and not lock the Geocaching and Romance. My point is complete. - LOL, I felt bad...
  5. I have one by me. I think my ad's are local. Fry's was formerly known as Incredible Universe. They are owned by Tandy Corp. (Radio Shack)
  6. My point is that, the current discussion, in this case: Geocaching and Romance, was not the same as the two other similar topics that I backtracked back to. The merging idea is a great one. And about the SC threads. I stopped reading those days ago because they were so alike. With that, I can see the point, alot of modding I see here is done correctly, just a few cases that struck me funny.
  7. Has anyone ran the internal Palm battery out? I've had mine on, backlit for a couple hours and didn't even get down to 75%. I also have a car charger, so unless I go overnight caching deep out in the woods (without my truck: not bloody likely) i'm set. I wouldn't worry about the battery issue. My Palm backs up everything to the PC with every hotsync, so i'm still not worried. My GPS still has the 500 closest waypoints. I think they also have an internal battery (like a PC clock) that always powers the memory and keeps it for months or years upon battery failure.
  8. So I guess that little threaded hole will suffice for something homemade? I have all kinds of stuff around here, all I need is the correct size/thread screw/stud. If anyone has some pics or anything further lemme know. But i'm going to head to the hardware store tonight or tomorrow.
  9. So, when you mods are in your moderating mode, and close a topic because it's a dupe; Could you please post a link to the dupe thread. I can never find them, nor should I try. Is there a limit on active threads here? (No) So why lock every thread? You should go lock the first one and keep the current discussion open. It's better anyways. Thanks for letting me vent.
  10. I like this idea. As for tiber.. I have a killer case I got for my GPS. A Caselogic camera case. Has a pocket perfect for a meridian, and a front pocket for a notepad, swag, or for me, my PDA. I want a string attached so when it's out of it's case and i'm holding it treking around looking for a cache, I can wrap it tight around my wrist just in case I lose grip on it.
  11. This is all fine and dandy, but plucker is a pain in the a**... my method.. PocketQuery from GC.com; load up in GSAK; Filter, delete, format, whatever.. GSAK export to Cachmate PDB file; Get PDB file Hotsync'd to Palm; Cachmate on Palm reads it. Simple as a pimple.
  12. I gotta Palm Vx, basically cause I don't want to hassle with more batteries (it's internal). 8 MB RAM, B/w screen, basic stuff. Check out my thread for some q&a I did.
  13. Dows anyone have anything that's worked. I saw one that screwed into the back hole where the power/data screws in. Frankly, that looks not only cheesy, but unsturdy, and I don't want to risk those precious little threads. Anyone have any solutions besides some nylon twine and electrial tape around the antenna section? Would electrical tape hinder sattelite reception?
  14. I just got mine a few days ago, and let me tell you... They are so magnificent. I have a list of about 1200 caches around my place.. So even without them on my GPS, I search them on the Palm, and get the coordinates, then put them in the GPS. I've been out caching today and Friday with mine. You can input logs in the field, check out nearby caches, with hints, past logs, etc.. I downloaded this AvantGo(.com) thing, so I get news and weather and political stuff downloaded to my Palm too, So I can check that out on the park benches between caches (today). Six months ago I would never have thought i'd EVER use one. Now me and the GF play with it all the time.
  15. I must agree with tiber, a GPS is expected to take abuse, just like any outdoor-oriented product. I surely hope my GPS wouldn't break while hiking out in the woods. Alot of good my PDA will do me then. Screen breakage upon DIRECT SCREEN IMPACT, like a rock smashing into the LCD - I could see them not covering that. But screen breakage from, let's say, a back or side impact, I think should be covered at least once. And any other (non-LCD) electronic or structural failure from a standard impact on hard ground should be covered for the duration of the warrantee. And Magellan should spellcheck their outgoing mail. - BTW-You know how many times I dropped my old B/W Gameboy on the floor and ground? That thing never broke. About the same size screen, and that was 14 years ago.
  16. I've got to side with D0T-COM on this one. 1: $150 for Mapsend Canada period is just outrageous. 2: Magellan not offering you credit toward the new version in lieu of your current version ownership is even more rediculous. Even Bill Gates offers Upgrade Win98 or whatever CD's for half price. You and your buddies should split the difference. At least your paying for it. I always found it disturbing that you don't even get decent detailed maps with your $300 GPS. I can see no topo, or whatever, but not even street level? Please. That's like selling a car without lugnuts.
  17. It works for me most of the time, just takes a longer time on days like today.
  18. My Palm has OS 4.0, and works with XP fine.
  19. "Urinary mysotysis!" Ok, I just spent the last hour reading this entire thread... I am about to pee myself from laughter. I haven't got caught since I was a young teenager. I was out huntin' with my father, and we stopped along a dusty road so I could go, just then a bunch of motocrossers came flying by opposite. From then on I either pissed from behind the opened car door, or walked off the road if it was wooded. Tip: If you're out in the woods and you have to squat, try and find a fallen tree, and arrange yourself so your legs strattle the large single, and your nethers are sitting between the fork. Takes the strain off the legs, and protects the laundry. Trust me. Just don't use a pine, it'll either break, or you'll be sticky for a week.
  20. Is there a good homeless shelter? [don't get me started] I would say no, it's not only dangerous for kids, but also for normal people who may not be on a fast vehicle like a mtn bike. I hate coming upon scumbags in the middle of nowhere, especially in groups, or their camp. There's a huge problem spot a few miles from my home down along the American River bike trail. There's camps, filthy people, and with them came litter, assaults on peds/cyclists, and even rapes. Homelessness is a huge problem. We should take the homeless off the street by force and..[self-edited for political correctness ( ) ]
  21. There was rumor of something like that in California too. What a load of crap.
