  1. I voted for Saturday, I hope it can be after 7pm. Friday works for me also. Rickr
  2. I hope to show up for the unlocking, too. I think the primaries (ie key-holders and box/orb holders) need to decide on a place and time, ultimately. I would vote for soon, this Saturday evening or Sunday, at a location close-in, ie between Beaverton and the Hollywood district. RickR
  3. I've also got the "wild in the City" solved like Bazzle and am waiting for the conditions and resources to log the cache. I agree, not at this time, though. I MIGHT have that CD at home and will get it back into circulation if so.
  4. Hey, Raiders was one of the first 5 I did. It was so exciting. Took a long bushwack in with my daughter, crawling under a fence, and were heading to the bottom of the quarry when a couple of "guardian angels" whistled at us and pointed us in the right direction. Looked that evening for 45 minutes without finding the cache. Came back with my son and daughter the next week, having found a proper entrance trail. We wondered and wondered what the "snake-eyes" could be, then just about freaked when we saw them. My daughter spotted them first, and was SO excited. Truly one of the greatest caches I've done. RickR
  5. Oregone's Instrumental Version CD is a worthy cache to add to the countdown list. RickR
  6. Hi, I'll be in Vancouver, BC this weekend (actually Richmond) watching my son play some water polo. I thought I'd fill the "waiting time" by doing a few geocaches in the area. Can any Vancouver-area cachers recommend a couple of local caches that might be particularly enjoyable to do while I'm there? Thanks in advance for your suggestions. RickR
  7. I've scanned the thread and want to add my opinion. I too, like the thrill of finding the container that some one has placed. Reading and signing the log seems important in connecting with the cache, even if I do not exchange trinkets. I prefer the more difficult or interesting or unique caches. I jumped on the Contact Cache and worked on it until I solved and located it. I've still got the props I used in the solution displayed in my house. I quit geocaching actively last spring because I became bored with the easy, "go right to it" caches. I've looked to do caches that are in an interesting place or have a uniqueness about them. Check out the "Adrenaline Cache" or the "Shoeless Joe Cache" for some examples. I placed a cache last spring, but have been somewhat disappointed that few of the strong geocachers in the area have solved it. I made it more difficult, rather than less difficult, and put it in a great location. I was inspired by some of the better caches that I have hunted. Most of those geocachers who have found my cache have commented favorably on it. I agree that the more difficult caches are the least often located. Non-the-less, those are the ones that I prefer to seek. I will place another cache, but only when I can create a good caching experience for the seekers. I hope other geocachers will continue to place quality well thoughtout caches. Just my thoughts. Rick
  8. I encripted a log on the cache page I posted. The log-writer changed the log and I'd like to "un-encript it, but I don't know how to do that. Thanks, Rickr
