  1. Target has the yellow Etrex on sale for $88 this week.
  2. Actually, a lot of people, including The Croc Hunter recommend wrapping the limb with an ace bandage or some other pressure bandage. For example, if the bite is near the ankle, you'd want to wrap the bandage up to your knee at least. By wrapping "above" the bite, you slow the transfer of venom, without cutting off circulation. -Cody
  3. Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers U2 After those two bands, I'll add... AC/DC Led Zeppelin Van Halen and some Van Hagar Cake Green Day Pearl Jam Nirvana Ozzy Black Sabbath The Doors Gin Blossoms Neil Young Lynyrd Skynyrd Aerosmith etc, etc, etc
  4. I thought you were talking about the TV show, too. That show rules!
  5. The "leaves of three" phrase works for poison oak. I don't believe I've ever seen poison oak that didn't have exactly three leaves.
  6. I don't serve in the military, but I am an engineer that designs military aircraft. I've spent almost three years working on the F/A-18 Super Hornet for the Navy and am currently working the B-2 Spirit for the Air Force. I know it's not the same as going into combat, but I do take great pride in knowing that I'm helping to keep US military personell as safe as possible by giving them the best equipment in the world. -Cody
  7. My signature items are footbags. You can check out a picture of them in my profile. -Cody
  8. I placed one along the Missouri in central Montana that my dad maintains for me... if anyone actually decides to look for it that is. Here is the link. I gave it four stars on the terrain because it is accessable by ground vehicle, albeit a very rough ride.
  9. You've all got my thanks and respect as well. Don't let the whiny minority get you down.
  10. Are condoms really still adult-themed items? I'm 25 and there are 15-year olds who see way more action than I do. :-) -Cody
  11. Why do people take everything on message boards and on the internet in general so seriously? Not every disagreement or rebuttal is a personal attack. Everybody just needs to learn to chill. 95% of these "discussions" could be avoided if people didn't over-react and actually made an attempt to clear up misunderstandings. -Cody
  12. Why does every single activity have to boil down to men hitting on women, or in some cases the other way around? I seriously would not like to see an official Geocaching Dating forum. It just feels like it would introduce an element of cheapness. But if you're that hard up, you could always organize a geocaching picnic in your area and use that to hit on the ladies.
  13. Believe it or not, a friend of mine who goes to ASU just told me about the DVRAC a few weeks ago, and I was planning to visit sometime in March when I head to Phoenix for a few Spring Training games. Now however, I doubt I'll visit that place. And on top of that, I think I'll email the DVRAC and let them know that they won't be getting my five bucks. -Cody
  14. I think I got just a little too excited about that website. I can already see myself spending way too much money there... -Cody
  15. If there's one thing I've learned from living in Southern California, it's that Hollywood money talks the talk.
  16. I live in southern CA, but I was back home in Phoenix over the holidays, so I used it as an opportunity to find my first AZ caches. Plus, I hooked my mom into the sport. I've always loved the desert mountains in the Phoenix area, and finding caches on them was great. You should try The Mummy's Treasure cache for some spectacular views of the Valley. -Cody
  17. I threw all my geocaching stuff into the pack I use for day-hikes, since a lot of the stuff is the same anyway. It pretty much stays loaded all the time, so it's always ready to go. Yeah, the sternum strap and the padded belt and the hydration pack are probably a bit of overkill for geocaching, but it beats having multiple packs which I'd constantly have to swap gear out of. Oh, it's an REI brand bag. Also, my experience with rope (for non-climbing purposes) is that "parachute" cord works great in most situations. -Cody
  18. Hey everybody, Is there a leaderboard of other similar feature on the site that gives you your "caches found" or "caches hidden" total ranked along side other cachers in your state? Not that my total is anywhere close to being at the top. I just think that this type of ranking would be cool to look at. Thanks, Cody
