  1. this has been a most helpful post. I'm debating between a few units, but this really helps sway me to the GC. thanks for the input.
  2. Thank you very much for the feedback. It's good to have a heads up about the learning curve. I'd rather be aware of it now than once I get the GPS home. Having never worked with or used a GPS in person, I have a few naive questions...Would not all units have a compass(not just high end ones)? That seems like it would be a pretty basic feature. Also, should i be purchasing any additions to go with the GPS? Maps? Memory cards? I've been reading about people needing to buy maps. Does it depend on which GPS you buy?
  3. I have had a few successful finds using the GPS for my car (Garmin Nuvi.) I want to get into geocaching more seriously so I want to get a proper GPS. I am not very computer savvy so I need one that is user friendly. Both for uploading paperless information and easy to use while searching. I won;t be doing anything too extreme, basically just looking for easy caches with my two young kids. Therefore I don't think I need alot of fancy features. My budget would be from $150 to $400. I would love to get some feedback on recommendations. Thanks for your help.
