  1. Just got my updated firmware today through topo 9. I was playing with mapping and hit the sync button and bingo, the update came on the screen. Now our PN-60's will finally be user friendly. Thank God! I am new to all of this so taking the long road was frustrating. Thanks Delorme.
  2. Perhaps you could be a little more specific on how you're trying to load caches to the device and why you need to remove the SD card. I've had no problems loading pocket queries by dropping the unzipped gpx file from GC directly on the SD card (while still in the 60), using GSAK or using Topo NA 9. Also addressed on the DeLorme forum. http://forum.delorme.com/viewtopic.php?f=1...=165329#p165329 The Delorme forum has a quote from an employee mentioning a fix by the end of this week possibly. Are you using Firefox or IE? Ie-8. Hope they fix it soon.
  3. Still own: Garmin GPS 12 (first gps, don't know what it is good for, hardly used) Just purchased: Garmin Nuvi 1300 (for my wife's car) Delorme Earthmate PN-60 (for hunting, geocaching, and my truck) Don't know why I keep buying technology, the learning curve is driving me crazy. Guess I can't help myself.

  5. The Delorme PN-40 without the newest firmware update will work. Unfortunatly the new Delorme PN's don't work. Delorme says they are working on it, but it still will be a couple weeks at least until they have a fix for the plug in feature in geocaching.com. I have a brand new PN-60 and I have to download my caches to an sd card in a card reader and then put the card in my gps. Crazy for a new device.
  6. I just got my new PN-60 and the firmware it has in it won't let me download caches into my gps. I can't believe Delorme would do such a thing. They released the new PN-60 with the new geocaching logo and free 30 day premium membership to geocaching.com and you can't get caches without downloading them to your computer and then to your sd card and then put the sd card in your PN-60. Lot of BS for paying that much for a new unit, when the old version firmware in a PN-40 works flawlessly for downloading geocaching. They said the new firmware upgrade should be out in a couple of weeks. Just thaught I would let people know what is going on with the new PN-60's.
  7. I just bought a PN-60 and I got a free premium membership for 30 days and I can't send geocach's to the unit. My computer is not compatable with an SDHC card, so I don't have a card in the unit yet. Any help would be appreciated.
  8. I think it was a PNY brand and I bought it at Wal-Mart. I put it in my Acer laptop card reader and an external 12 in 1 reader and it didn't do anything. I found out my laptop won't read SDHC cards, only SD cards. I don't know what to do now. A 2GB won't be worth buying will it?
  9. I just got my new Delorme PN-60 and got an SDHC card for it and my computer won't recognize it. Is there such a thing as just SD cards at 32 GB. All I can find is SDHC and MicroSD. Please help.
  10. I used the suction cup mount on my windshield right above my speedometer and tach. If you are going to buy one spacifically for your motorcycle I would check out RAM mounts at amazon. They seem to be well built. Hope this helps.
  11. I am going through the same thing you are. I just ordered a Delorme PN-60 for $350 from Amazon, but found out that same day they were at The Digital Oasis . com for $322 with free shipping. If that is too much then the PN-40 is also a good choice. There are going to be alot of used ones out there with the PN-60 just hitting the shelves. Be patient. The Digital Oasis has them for somewhere around $214 with free shipping. Used ones should be considerably cheaper because they are used. Delorme sounds like they will be offering updates for the pn-40 still. Go to Delorme.com and click on forum on the bottom of their home page and read the forums about the pn-40. I found it very helpful. My father-in-law has a pn-40 I borrowed and it worked great. A little hard on batteries, but it had great accuracy. I chase the Delorme over the Garmin because of the maps that come with the Delorme and the $30 map subscription to download all I want for a year. It is quite a bit cheaper than the garmin also. Hope this helps.
  12. Why is the time on the forums different than my local time? I chose the Central Standard Time zone in my profile page and I live in central Wisconsin.
  13. Where did you find the subscription for $23?
  14. The Delorme PN-60 doesn't have that problem. It sounds like the new Garmin touchscreens have an issue with seeing the screen in outdoor light. I would look into Delorme.
  15. Also, if you need accessories they are the same as the PN-40. Everything is compatable. I found that the cheapest place for RAM mounts, power cords, etc. is Amazon.com. Hope this helps.
  16. I have borrowed a PN-40 and thaught it worked fine. I chose to purchase the PN-60 for the new interface and longer battery life and more memory. I am new to geocashing and handheld gps's. I will be using mine for hunting, some driving, and geocashing. The PN-60 is brand new to the market, but has the same size and buttons as the PN-40. I feel the PN-40 has proven itself and the PN-60 is a good upgrade for the money. That way you won't have to worry about all the compatability problems everyone is trying to figure out on these and other forums. Less headache=more user time. I was impatient and bought a PN-60 from Amazon for $350, but you can get one from TheDigitalOasis.com for $322 with free shipping. I just ordered a trolling motor from there and they were great. It was at my door in three business days and it was exactly what I ordered. Hope this helps. I should get mine on July 8th. Good luck.
  17. I would go with the pn-60. Where did you find a pn-60 for $310? I have been looking all over for a pn-60 under $350.
  18. I ordered a PN-60 from The Digital Oasis on June 24th and they called and refunded my money on June 28th because they couldn't fill the order. They told me to wait a week and try back. The price will be $322 I was told with free shipping. I guess I will have to be patient. Anyone have one yet? How do you like it?
  19. In a few weeks hopefully the demand for the Delorme PN-60 will slow down so I can actually get one. I am new to this and chose the Delorme because of price and maps. Battery life is suppose to be better and it has a new interface. Same case and size as the PN-40 so all accessories will work. Hope this will help. Be patient, the PN-60 is just starting to hit the market this week. I ordered one that was in stock for $322 and by the time they tried to fill the order they were gone. In a few weeks they should be available at The Digital Oasis . com. If you want one right away you are going to have to take your chances with Amazon and pay $400. Good luck!
  20. Where are the best prices on accessories for Delorme PN-40/60? Suction cup mount and 12 volt power cord.
  21. Are the accessories for the PN-20,30,40 going to work for the PN-60? Power cord and windshield ram mount.
  22. I just got an e-mail that mine shipped today. Thanks Where did you order it from and how much with shipping? I just ordered a red pn-60 from The Digital Oasis in stock ready to ship for $322 with free shipping. I will let you all know when it comes. It should arrive June 29th.
  23. I just got an e-mail that mine shipped today. Thanks Where did you order it from and how much with shipping?
