Yep this would good, sorry not sure how to do this.
It would also be handy to see a map of the world and way you bug has been.
The present system is quite tedious to use, jumping from one location to the next.
I have seen it done on TB race pages, but not on the main site.

I think your best bet is "Last Delivery (London) GCGBGB"
Its a large cacge designed for Travel bugs in the heart of London.

hmmm you would think the home of England’s favourite bard would have a least one.
Maybe there are no local cachers???

Hi,
It may have been suggested before, but what about being able to download my bookmarks as a GPX file instead of a LOC file.
The GPX can then be imported into GSAK and then uploaded to cachemate etc. The LOC file lacks the required info, cache notes etc.
My idea was to put the caches in a bookmark list that I intend to do on my next cache hunt and then just before I leave, download the GPX file.
Pocket queries are ok if you are caching in the same area, but not if you to cache along a route.
Thanks…Gary (KiwiGary)

I have yet to find anywhere that sells TOPO maps for it, only roadmaps which are good to get to the carpark. But a TOPO would be better in the field.
Have you read this Thread about topo for mapsource, and they are free
Pengy
No I will go and have a look, thanks

The colour does help (I have the Legend C), but it has the same mapping as the Vista but less memory and no compass.
I have yet to find anywhere that sells TOPO maps for it, only roadmaps which are good to get to the carpark. But a TOPO would be better in the field. And if you don't have a car like me, good for finding bridleways
Still useful to determine what side of the canal a cache is on, very handy for Ali's cache series.
The battery life is amazing compared to the old yellow etrex.

If its handy to public transport, we are keen to come along.

Seems fair to me, if the cache wasn't done with required steps then I say you are being very fair.

I agree you need to get a device to act as a USB host, so you can plug in the PDA and GPS.
Now I don't know if such a device exists and if so, would it work for this setup??
You could carry a laptop around with you, but then why bother having a PDA???

I think the "Sherlock series by Lunchbox (Maintained by Chris n Maria) " is quite good fun.
It takes you a walk around Londons interesting spots, we haven't finished it yet but so far its been great.

Sorry to hear about that Ali, hopefully some of your property will turn up.

Hi Ya,
The Batteries are Alkaline Batteries.
So far it does seem to hold its signal better, this is only after two days testing. I have noticed it locks onto the sats a lot quicker than the Yellow one.
It still does lose the signal when you go under thick threes, esp when the coverage is wet.
The best to test would if I bought along both and see if one loses the signal quicker.
The legend is a nicer GPS, more features. But for Geocaching the yellow would be fine.

Thanks for the response, but that wouldn't work as the Legend C doesn't have the four pin plug.
It only has a USB port, that cable would work fine with my Yellow eTrex but not with the Legend C.
Thanks anyway

I have an old etrex Yellow and a new Etrex Legend C.
And I would agree with Garmins Battery life stats, the legend last a lot longer.
I went out over the weekend and two days caching the legend has only lost one bar of battery, whereas the etrex would be usual be asking for new set by now.
It is surprising that a colour one uses less batteries, it must be more efficient than the older model.
So yep I think the Legend is pretty cool.

Hi,
This may have been brought up before, but a search didn't find it. So sorry if this is a repeat.
I have just bought a eTREX Legend C and was wondering if you can attach it to a PDA.
I know its USB only, but can you get a USB bridge or something like that to attach it to USB PDA??
It would handy for long trips, the PDA can stored more Waypoints than the GPS (500 only)
Anyone had any luck joining these two beast together?
By the way the PDA is a Palm M500 series (M515), but I guess this applies to any USB PDA.
Thanks in advance
