  1. Congratulations Guys, see ya the event. Still haven't seen that Golden Cache yet, maybe this is the time??? See ya...Gary & Margaret
  2. We were looking in a cache on Bridleway in the weekend, when a horse with rider went past us. I said to Margaret, is that the last of the cookies? As were looking into a lunch box style cache. I think it worked!!! It was just luckly it wsn't a ammo box, is that the last shell? See ya...Gary
  3. Congrats Bob, Sorry to hear about your car. Gary
  4. As others have said its rare to find something that you want to trade. The best thing I think was a CD, it had been in the woods for over three months but it was OK. It wasn't in the cache, I don't think it would fit. I also recently found a 35mm container, that become a replacement for one of muggles caches. So that was a great find at the time. See ya...Gary
  5. Hi, I am also going to be Amsterdam soon, I will rate any caches that I manage to find on the http://www.handicaching.com web site, or drop me a line and I will tell you what I find. Most of the caches are mystery caches, which is fine but can be hard to do when Dutch isn't my first language. I have managed to solve one from help from the cache owner I have found a lot of the caches which are both languages, so still a few to complete. Trads are all ok, unless you need to read the hints!! Its not too bad for me, as I will be taking along my own translator "Kiwi Tulip-Margaret" See ya...Gary
  6. I wrote a script to do just that, it copies the logs from Cachemate file and then copies them to a file "C:\Temp\CacheNotes.gpx" You have to then select File / Load Cachemate logs in GSAK. Save it as .cmd or .bat and double click on it:- You will also have replace (YOUR NAME) with hmm your name that your PDA stores your files in. I have a Palm so not sure if you have a Windows CE device. >> @ECHO OFF del /q c:\temp\CacheNotes.gpx cm2gpx.exe -f -o c:\temp\CacheNotes.gpx "C:\Program Files\palmOne\(YOUR NAME)\Backup\DefaultItems-cMat.PDB" Echo Logs copied to c:\temp\CacheNotes.gpx PAUSE << Email me if you need anymore help. See ya....Gary
  7. Hi, I wouldn't remove any swaps if I thought it was Tat. I would remove obvious rubbish, like in the weekend I removed a used chocolate wrapper from a cache near Tring. I also would remove any contraband as Simply Paul said, knives, guns etc. See ya...Gary
  8. Congrats on reaching 900!!! See ya...Gary
  9. Or the old joke... How can you travel 1 mile south, 1 mile east, and then one mile north and end up in the same place. If you are in the North Pole... See ya...Gary
  10. Perhaps the cache owner could arrange shuttle bus from the parking to the cache
  11. Sorry me again. Someone with a GPS60 would be better to answer this, but I think autorouting only works on the GPC60 C. I may be wrong but I think it doesn't work on the 60. This is like the Legend and the Legend C. Routing only works on Legend C. See ya...Gary
  12. Hi, Yes, I also had the same issue with Metroguide. It doesn't have the autorouting information with the maps. So if you try and use it will only use the basemap that was supplied with your GPS. Mine had the European one. I just purchased City Select for my Legend C and it works great, as others have said make sure it has the unlock code or it won't work. See ya...Gary
  13. Congratulations Bob, onwards to the next 600... See ya...Gary
  14. You need to move every six months, because the area you live in no longer has any unfound caches?
  15. Congratulations to the milvus-milvus clan on reaching 200 caches with Salcey Forest #2 (GCQDE7) in the weekend. Like the elephant impression on your log as well, very amusing. See ya…Gary & Margaret
  16. Congrats, it was good to meet you at Go Ape! See ya...Gary and Margaret
  17. Hi. Be aware that MetroGuide can't autoroute on the unit, whereas City Select can if your GPS supports it. If you don't have City Select it only autoroutes on the basemap, ok if everywhere you go is on a main road. I believe the Metroguide doesn't include the autorouting data. I am not sure if the GPS60 supports routing anyway, I know the GPC60C does. I sure someone with a GPS60 will be able to tell you. I have a Legend C which does supports it, so the C seems to have more features than the standard models. This may not be an issue for you, but we are planning to use City Select and the Legend as a Tom Tom like device in a car. See ya....Gary
  18. Help please - I've forgotten how to do that! Hi John, Click on or go here http://www.geocaching.com/notify/ See ya...Gary
  19. We were out in Olney in the weekend doing Happy Hippos cache, we think we met Lenny Henry? But we were not sure, it certainly looked like and sounded like him. So unconfirmed, but we are pretty sure. See ya...Gary & Margaret
  20. Congratulations on reaching the 300 land mark... See ya...Gary
  21. My top tip is:- When placing a cache, visit the final hide at different times of the day and take waypoints. Average these all out and this is the co-ordinate you use for the cache notes. The more at different times the better, if you take them all at the same time it won’t work. See ya...Gary
