  1. Opps, broke guide number 4, and its obvious why you don't want to show the bug number! But at least now I know and am off to read the guides a bit more closely this time. P&L Good
  2. Thanks for that Pengy, with that update I can now import overlays from GSK, before it said I didn't have the professional features
  3. Birders, I agree with what you are saying, we were there with our 2 dogs and they do tend to 'stray' from the paths But the ranger was there trying to catch a motorbiker and he had a police 4x4 with him. As I tried to point out in the orignal post, he was not against geochaching even in SSSI areas, but he would like to approve the location of a cache in these areas, so that he can advise and monitor the impact it has in these sensitive areas.
  4. Thats the thing I missed out, the ranger did say it was an SSSI, thanks for that Wombles.
  5. While my wife and I were looking for Warren's Ponds Cache (GCJ6KK) a Forestry Commission Ranger saw us walking with a GPS and stopped us and asked if we were Geocaching. He informed us that because of the wildlife in the area caching should not be done in the forest. He is aware that the Forestry Commission has permitted geocaching and was very happy with what we do and is in no way against the hobby. On discussing the reasons why we do what we do, we both came to the same conclusion, there should be more communication between the two parties. He even suggested that geocaching could be carried out in the Forest if the rangers were consulted on the placing of the caches. So those that have caches in this area, please contact Mr Ian Green the Recreation Ranger of Bramshill Forest for some guidance, ian.green@forestry.gsi.gov.uk, or email me on goody69831@aol.com and I can give you his telephone number. One last thing is that he has a GPS with him on his patrols and can quite easily decide to find the caches in the forest and remove them. As I have said he was a very nice person and we would do well to build up a mutual relationship with him. Paul & Lynne Good
  6. I think you need to update his speed lol. Now I know you don't want it to be a thread devoted to you, Mr Modest but can he ever reach the speed of light?
  7. As title Paul, how fast is the criter going? Seems to be breaking the sound barrier as you needed
  8. I'll have it, if thats ok. Want to email me on goody69831@aol.com to make arrangements? Paul
  9. I'm interested, need to chat to my other half when I get home. Will post later this evening. P&L Good
  10. LOL didn't even notice that myself and I am used to it!!
  11. Hi all, My wife and I saw the programme and went out and got a GPS the very next day and managed to find our first cache on Tuesday. Only 1.6miles from our home The dogs did seem a bit confused as we were looking around for 20mins not really knowing what we were looking for, but got there in the end ! Thanks to the BBC and Paul for getting the message accross. Paul and Lynne
