  1. I suppose the real reason for the "Watch out" comments is that with 2 of my caches Dan & Pid crossed over Golf courses to get to the caches. In BOTH cases this was really not at all necessary as I always ensure that there is a route to the cache without anyone running the rish of trespassing. On one of the Golf courses Dan & Pid were actually chased of by a green keeper. Hence their warning. Look out I have another cache in mind & yes it is very close to yet another golf course. 20. An excellent choice !! Regards, Finger (UK Charter Member)
  21. There is a rule about advertising ones wares on the forums so i will NOT say the obvious place (See my profile) so as an alternative look at somewhere like maplins or B&Q may have them .. A previous post indicated that they may be the same but i do not know. Regards, Finger (UK Charter Member)
  22. When you first plug the charger in BOTH lihhts will be on. The Green light goes off when very shortly afterwards to indicate charging. The red light stays on. Then BOTH lights will be on again to indicate 90% charged. You can leave the batts in for another 1 or 2 hours to get to 100% full charge. There is NO danger of overcharging if the batts remain in the charger after full charge is reached. The RED light stays on all the time always. this is purely to show that there is power going into the charger. it never goes off unless you disconnect the power supply. 23. Ok I suppose I should come clean & out into the open. I am an authorised reseller of the Navman 3000. i use one regularly. I do use it for Geocaching sometimes but I use my eTrex Vista far more often. Basically the 2 machines have different functions. The Navman 3000 is far better for routing from pace to place either town to town r wihin a town from street to street. The eTrex will NOT do this. The eTrex is better for Geocaching. The Navman is a logical upgrade to your Compaq. So the choice really is yours. Please beware there are 2 versions of Navman for the Compaq. One costing double the other !!!!!!! The more expensive covers the UK only. the Cheaper has the UK & Europe !!!!! I know that is a crazy thing but that is what happens when Compaq want their own version of a Navman. Please let me know if you want more info or take a look at our web site. I am sorry if I have offended anybody by mentioning my link with equipment sales but I have insider knowledge that I am happy to share. Regards, Finger (UK Charter Member)
  24. I am sorry but i don't know what you saw in B&Q. These cells are caled Pure Energy. I know in B&Q they used (& maybe still do) sell Rayovac Recargeable alkaline. These were silver in colour. The RAM bateries are gold in colour. Does this help ?? Regards, Finger (UK Charter Member)
  25. There are on the market RAM batteries. Specs are : 1.5 Volt Output 2000 mAh 0% cadmium 0% Mercury NO memory effect in fact the earlier you recharge them the better. I use them and they last me all day with an eTrex Vista. Regards, Finger (UK Charter Member)
