Off Topic: 1000 Caches In France
dibbler69 replied to sTeamTraen's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Im off to France in August. Ive not yet started to plan where to cache. Any good ones around Biaritz worth doing? -
I was looking for a cache one. I was in the correct area. Just about to put my hand on the cache container when I disturbed a 'rat'. When I picked up the cache there was a strong smell of ammonia. I took it to be the rats calling card. The log book was very wet, and so was the container. I emailed the cache owners and told them, location and condition. With in a couple of hours I was told to log it as a find even though I could not find sign the log. Cache was replaced the next day. I would have replaced the log book but it would have soaked up the rats offerings!!

To Pay Or Not To Pay, That Is The Question
dibbler69 replied to 2202's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I renewed my membership last week. I think its cheaper than last year when you take into account the $ to £ rate. Nearly a whole £1 cheaper!!!! I use the PQs quite alot as I have a pda and just download all the closest caches to where im visting. No paper to carry. -
I bought a legend off metamonkey just before christmas as a present to myself off my wife a daughter. After a week I was getting worried that it had not arrived. I kept emailing the seller who took ages to reply. When he did reply he aplogised for the delay and confirmed the gps had been sent. I left it a couple more days and told my wife I would have to complain. She started laughing... The gps had arrived after about 3-4 days. My daughter realised what it was and had wrapped it up and put it under the tree.. So I can say it was good service alround.

If its a local cache I might go for a FTF. I did go out at 9.00 one night to get "A. Lurcher's common quarry" Pitch black and raining. Had to beat several local cachers to it!!

I attended my first couple of meets a couple of months ago.(Breakfast Bash - Before the Beer and Geocachers Big Love-in ). Didnt know what to expect. I was made most welcome by many of the regular crew. The mass hunt for new caches was most fun!!!!! Im trying to arrange things to make this meet but wont know until the friday before. -
