  2. Hey Deb I would suggest April. Usually May is black fly season. If you get here in early May you might be alright. If not you'll head back home running looking like a raw steak May and June especially are bug spray season .

  10. I have read MajBach's post. Hopefully you'll have better luck next time my friend. I have also sent a e-mail to the owner of gc13e8. This cache is now listed as unavailable. If there isn't any response it will be archived. It is important to check on the condition/availability of your cache. [This message was edited by 300mag on March 20, 2002 at 08:46 PM.]
  11. I also use the gm100 and love it. It as great reception and lots of features. You should load the GDM16 program from the lowrance site.It is a good program to load your wpt's tracks etc...
  12. After doing a mutli wpt cache my waypoints fade away with time and weather. I use permanent ink markers. I though of using a small paint brush and painting my coords on the object at this location ie: old steel pipe, trailer, rock etc.... This would last longuer. What would you use?
  13. After showing my gps and explaining how it worked and talking about geocaching one of my co-workers borrowed is neighbors gps. 14. I have not yet gone caching at night. I have been out at sundown but still had some daylight. I got to try this someday or night

  16. My wife spotted the last 5mins on discovery channel. She then told me about it . Soon after i was on the net checking it out. Not long after that i was out loging the only cache in my area. Now geocaching as grown so much it had to be split up by provinces.
  17. My first cache item was also at the first cache in the area. Meach lake pressure cooker. This was an early spring walk trough the bush with still lot's of snow. After sweating it out to the mountain top and a great experience me and my son tooked a tin container full of mints and a energie bar.

  20. It is hard to find good mapping software in Canada. The cheapest way so far is to get something like oziexplorer and scan and load your maps. I have seen the garmin gps map 76 and it's maps are very nice and detailed for my area (Ottawa)but usually no maps exist for my hunting (camping) area unless you get a fancy program like Quovadis $$$
