  1. Hi there Hi have been away from geocaching for a long time but it seems my cache's are still popular. After getting notices that some have found them I would like to know how to refresh/re activate my cache. Thanks for the info Dan (300mag)
  2. Great idea . I was also thinking of creating a aquacache too. This would be different .
  3. Thanks PDOP . Nice to see all of you again. I wasn't gone far but very busy with a few other non related projects. Like my buddy Cliffy I too am starting to get the itch . I was actually playing with the gps and looking at how many sat locks I was receiving inside my house again. Now if the weather can warm up we could organize another cache event or something...Cheers to all
  4. I like your idea bccrockcrawler. But i'm opened to anything :-) Nice Job Cliffy the pics turned out great .TKS Again THANKS to all who participated.
  5. I wish you all a very merry christmas... Now go and unwrap that new gps

    VIRUS ALERT

Thanks for the notice Cliffy I'll contact you on this.
  7. After visiting the renaisance festival in Sterling NY. I noticed a lot of people walking around with these sticks. When returning home I decided to start carving my own wood spirits, owls etc. So far these look really great. I prefer working with cedar and yellow birch wich I collect on my woodlots. These make great gifts to my friends that I enjoy giving away and everyone enjoy very much receiving. Now i'll have to try them out someday.
  8. I also had the exact same thing happen. This was the first time I posted a virtual cache. I was very disapointed in this refusal. I didn't know there was a new list of approval criteria's. I don't feel like posting the cache for it here and having you vote on it. This is not a court.I will simply remove it.
  9. Good idea. We had a lot of fun last time. We enjoyed meeting everyone. I might still be out hunting since this will be the last weekend for Deer season. Unless I get lucky early in the season. I'll try and make it out there if not Good luck and have fun.

    caches

What kind of caches do you like most? [This message was edited by 300mag on October 21, 2002 at 06:59 AM.]
  11. If you think there might be a problem with the concerned cache you can remove it and place it as unavailable or archive it. I usually leave a advanced notice so cachers will know it will be removed soon. Some of my caches I remove ,some I leave depending if I think the container/cache items will be ok. With the snow that isn't too far down the road it can be a good idea to remove some that won't be accessible. So next spring they will be all fresh and ready to go
  12. Both reply's stated above are thrue. It would be more fun to have more caches but we wouldn't want any caches that would be left unattended or demolished for long periods of time. So too much isn't good and too few neither. I think cachers should place at least one if not more. I rather like hiding caches. I like planning these out and putting myself in the finders place. I actually have been plotting a new location several times and still didn't stashed it yet. I've been carrying this cache in the car for about 1 month. I like multi-wpt caches or especially one's that take you out for a long hike.
  13. I know it is His cache but. He should inform other users of this site about it's intent. I do not think it is a wise idea to use this site in this manner. You should expect when hiding a cache getting people going to and logging it. If you have other plans for it You should mention it in the cache description. This way it would prevent these situations. This cache should at least been listed as NOT AVAILABLE.
  14. I'll be caching today. So what will be our channel. It started out by number 10 with a vast majority now it seems like channel 4. I sort of like 10 but i'll leave my unit scanning till we decide or maybe we should flip a coin

  16. I like the idea. Lots of time when caching you wonder if any parked vehicles are cachers out there too. This would be a good way to get in contact or meet other cachers. Another aspect which I like is having someone else doing the same cache as you but from a different starting point. This is a good way to had some kind of a little competition. It's fun to see who is getting closer and closer to it by letting the other team or buddy know how many meters /feet you are from it. You can even exchange return coords and go out the way the other team came in. I also think it should be a regular frequency with no ctcss or other scrambling method since not all frs have that option. Know what channel was that again?

  25. I always carry granola bars. They have been helpfull a few times when I had a craving.I have given some to others on the trail too. I also like to carry a energie /boost or vector bar too. For liquids I usually bring juice and water. One I also like is a snickers bars. I have seen great sugestions in this topic. But I remember when Dx Challenged came in our area I was surprise to see that bag of licorice. I helped her out by holding the bag I eventually handed the bag back to her as it seemed to be getting light. TKS Deb lol I'll remember to bring my own next time these are addictive
