  1. I have an old Garmin eTrex Vista and it's tme for a new device. I'm looking at the new Garmin Montana. However, when I bought my Vista years ago, it came with North & South America already pre-loaded. I don't see that they offer a detailed South America CD, except on the less-than -detailed World CD. I am also going on a trip to Antarctica, S. Georgia Islands & Falkland Islands and the Garmin World CD doesn't appear to have those those places on their map. Looks like the only way to maybe get those areas is to subscribe yearly to their satelite (Birdseye?)download option.... I know there are some geocaches down there and it sure would be nice to have a map on my GPS. Does anyone know which product or company (I really like Garmin, but....) provides Antarctica maps?
  2. I found a travel slug on a trip to New Mexico on March 2, 2008, brought it to Nevada and placed it in a cache on March 16. I just retrieved from a different cache (the travel slug had not yet been listed as having been placed in that cache, so I wasn't specifically going after it and didn't know it was there...) tonight, May 25 ! What are the odds? Does that happen very often? Are there any statistics on multiple retrievals of the same geocoin or travel slug?
  3. Thanks Markwell! I knew I'd seen the "New" listings before on searches for other states besides my own. I just checked it out and found over a dozen new listings that had NOT yet been found....here in NEVADA! I guess a lower population density has more pluses than I'd thought. I didn't find any I'll be able to snatch on my long road trip today, (yes...mort were for the other end of the state -too bad they can't be regionally delineated) but I'll be looking for one in the future. I also already get the weekly notification and will look at that more carefully when I don't check the State listings regularly. Thanks again!
  4. With a premium account, you can set up email alerts when a new one pops up. I think. I thought that might be how one does it. What about non-premium members?
  5. I've done some caching on and off for about 4 years and now have time to get a bit more serious. One thing I'd like to do is be "The First To Find" a new cache. How does one go about finding such listings on the website?
