Thanks for your help. Going to am event seems to be a great idea. Decide what your budget is. Think about whether you want a touchscreen, buttons, or joystick. Do you care how many caches you can load into it? Is display, resolution, and mapping important? Do you want be most current model? Is GLONASS important? Do you want an electronic compass? We can give you lots of advice, but none of it really matters since you will be the one using it. If you can, go to a store where you can get a feel for the unit, or perhaps a caching event where people may have different models you could see.

I have a Magellan Gold that is kinda old and I am looking to upgrade it. I am looking for something I can load geocaching info to, any suggestions?

I have a friend who is thinking of getting her husband a GPS . He went out with me once caching and had a great time. She is thinking of getting him a Magellan explorist 200. Will this do the job?? If not what would you recommend as a low end unit, she had a price of $150 for the 200. Thanks for any help you can give.
