  1. I would love to do this. I've thought about putting squirrel or rabbit scent into a cache, hoping that geodogs who are not scent trained might still be able to find it. Seems that would open up the available searching dog population more. BUT would it work? Would bears etc. also be attacted? How long would the scent last?
  2. My new Garmin 62stc bills itself as having paperless caching, and .gpx files do download to it easily. However, I can't seem to find a way to have the hints download, too. None of the caches I've put on the 62 show hints. Is there a way to fix this?
  3. My waypoint file I want to use isn't 2000, so there's still room for my geocaches.
  4. I'll give that a try, although I wanted to take advantage of the 2000 waypoints on the new 62. So far I am NOT impressed with it.
  5. On the screen of the 62stc when zoomed all the way out and with their labels when zoomed in far enough. Thanks for helping.
  6. My new 62stc feels like a DOWNgrade to my 60csx. Garmin just keeps sending me canned responses that do not fit my issue. Right now, I am trying to get ALL the waypoints that I have downloaded to it to show, with their labels. I can only make a waypoint appear when I select it individually from the list. Now Garmin is telling me that the new 62stc doesn't work with Mapsource, which seems ridiculous to me. Anyone able to offer some help with the waypoint labeling/showing issue? Many thanks!
  7. Hmmm......no, the one that sends a pocket query instead of individual caches. But thanks for helping!
  8. OK, I feel really stupid even asking this. But I have scoured every page of the GC.com site and simply cannot find the "send to GPS" button that will allow me to download to my Delorme PN-40. I am a premium member. Can someone kindly post the URL for it? Many thanks.............
  9. Thanks so much! Yes indeed, it turned out to be embarrassingly obvious..... The Geo-Goldenz
  10. OK, I'm new to this and may well be missing something obvious, but I can't find anywhere in GSAK or its help files on how to change the "distance" from metric to statute measurements. Sure would appreciate hearing how to do so...... The Geo-Goldenz
  11. Fabulous! I'll go right now and download it -- many thanks. Happy Trails, The Geo-Goldenz
  12. We finally figured out how to get gpx files INTO Street Atlas; now we need to know how to get native format Street Atlas files (.saf) into gpx. Our geocaching files are working fine, but we need to get our wild hot springs data base into gpx []FROM Street Atlas. We can get it as far as a text file, so if it can go from a text file INTO a gpx file, we'd be delighted. Anyone doing this? Once our Street Atlas files are converted to gpx, we can then use that great gpx to Mapopolis converter to put all our hot springs into our Pocket PC with Mapoplis, as we've done with our geocache files. That WOULD be heaven! Thanks, The Geo-Goldenz, Tobin & Tioga
  13. You can tell by how few we've found that we're not exactly number chasers.... We use stickers that we print with our photos (golden retrievers, Tobin & Tioga) and home county/state. We actually thought this was a GOOD idea, had no clue some folks would object. We're not much for writing in the log books (it's tough with paws) and probably all we'd do is sign it anyway, so it seems that our personalized stickers are a lot more friendly and informative about us. The Geo-Goldenz, Tobin & Tioga
  14. Is it possible to sort the cache list in ways other than distance from the zip code entered? We would like to have the "NEW" ones come up first. Many thanks, The Geo-Goldenz
