  1. Sounds like a good idea. Will you be including the state of confusion? What about other countries?
  2. "adj. 1.Inborn; innate. 2.Being such by birth or origin. 3. One's own by birth 4. Originating or produced in a certain place; indigenous noun 1.One born in or connected with a place by birth. 2.An original inhabitant-a life long resident. 3. Something, esp. an animal or a plant, that is native to a particular place. Try the American Heritage Dictionary's definition since you don't seem to like mine.
  3. "It's grass burning season, and Boise often has a haze, but I was talking about the other kind. Like when you walk into a party and know you will have a good time or know it's already past when you should of left." I know what you were talking about -duh- It was a play on words to point out one of the obvious (and numerous) flaws of "the big C word". If you take the time to look at my original post along with many others here, I was not bashing Cali, in fact I have no problem with it or Californians as long as they are in California and not here driving up the cost of property, complaining about the cold and the snow, and whining about a couple of weeks of smoke from the grass farmers that were here long before they were. And by the way, it's not grass burning season, thats end of summer. It's main purpose is to get rid of the transplants that made it throught the winter. I believe that you have a very narrow view of my state along with its neighbors, and I hope that it stays that way, and you spread the word, after all, our atmosphere isn't this good because of overpopulation.
  4. I have an item that I have left in some of the larger caches. I work for the phone company and have a collection of glass insulators. I had to get them by climbing the poles near railroad tracks. They are a little piece of history, and they make nice candle holders, but they don't fit in many caches. I am still trying to think of something to put in the smaller ones.
  5. I just took trip on Alaska air to LA, got back today. Alaska doesn't allow you to turn on a gps in flight-even says so in the in-flight magazine- but I still have a top speed on my legend of 561 mph! Security was more interested in my laptop.
  6. Gee, I guess this means you really do read the articles!
  7. I recently posted a topic asking for a little help in La Palma CA. for my trip there next week and out of something like 60 hits I had only one reply(and I took a shower this week too). I was thinking about a rating system where you could rate a cache after you find it like you can a topic here. That way if you are short on time you can browse through the area and hit only the premo caches.
  8. I seem to remember from history class something about how society tends to swing back and forth like a pendulum-sometimes being more tolerant and sometimes prudish, so I guess what I meant to say was that this latest swing seems to have been started in great deal by the break up of the nuclear family along with a few other things. However, I don't ever recall the extremes that we are seeing at this point until you go back to Sodom and Gamora(spelling?) unless it is just more apparent due to the media coverage we have now. In any case I am sorry to have taken this thread off its original course, my aplogies.

  10. Is it just me, or did anyone else start to see these kind of problems shortly after the popularity of things like Day Care, two income families, divorce, time outs instead of spankings, rap music, MTV, Snowboards(sorry, I couldn't resist), video games, etc. etc.? I know I'm going to take a lot of flack for this, but I wonder how many people actually sit down to a family dinner every night like we did when I was a kid. Personally I think that profanity shows how ignorant a person is and a lack of respect for others.

  12. I thought this was so funny, everyone knows that the aluminum must be in the shape of a pyramid to be effective!
  13. I am going to a class at Nortel in Las Palmas next week, staying at Buena Park, and will probably have enough time to hit 10 or 15 caches. Could I get some suggestions on some must see caches (without hitting any bad neighborhoods) from some locals? [This message was edited by niskibum on March 26, 2002 at 12:45 PM.]
  14. "If any of you can understand that bit of numerical nonsense, then you know what I'm going to do. If not, just wait for the munmers." Considering the amount of data here, I sure hope you can do your times and gozintas better than your riten. By the way, is there any way to see the data on just the single female cachers, say within 50 or 60 miles of my coords? purely out of curiosity of course.
  15. Being from Idaho, I understand and sympathize with Oregons infestation, we have the same thing here. The one thing to remember is that you are probably the minority if you are a native, so one must be carefull as to his/her comments in a crowded room. I for one don't have a problem with someone being from the "big C word", but I find that they are like tribbles, one or two are a cute novelty, but soon you end up with ten million of the darned things. All I can ask is that they remember a couple of things. 1.If your birth certificate doesn't say Idaho/Oregon you are not a native and you NEVER will be. 2.Vacations aren't supposed to last 40 years 3.If you move someplace else to get away from some problems make sure you don't bring them with you.

  17. I can sympathize with you macro, I've had a car broken into before and understand your anger. A long time ago I heard about a guy that was constantly getting ripped off. He got tired of it and decided to put a pint of whiskey in his glovebox that was laced with rat poison. The kid that stole it was hospitalized, almost died, and the guy was arrested for something like attemted murder. While I wouldn't go to such extremes, I have thought about using syrup of epecac or some strong laxative. Not enough to cause any real damage but enough to put the scum through some of the pain that you are currently going through. I never have gotten the nerve up to do this but I wonder if I'll wish I had the next time I'm broken into. I know how mad I was the last time!
