  1. FTFY Funny you should mention that. I have a brand spanking new (to me) .50 cal ammo can @ my feet, with a resident Geo coin destined to be part of a TB hotel chain at my feet
  2. I have one of my physical caches in an area that I think would make a great spot for an earth cache, due to the way the area was formed . I think I can collect enough information that is not available online, to make this work. http://coord.info/GC33CXH .......... Is my cache Here is some area on the area. .... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hull,_Massachusetts So what say the EC experts ?
  3. Well that is the way I saw it. I was the first to sign... first to log it. There for it is my first FTF and it is a first to find.
  4. I still have the coin sent to me. Things got mumbled and jumbled around, and truthfully I for got I had this coin. No fears It is going to be placed in a themed cache. It will be a hotel/motel and will live there. I just thought I would give a update.
  5. As I was sitting home last night, with one of my caching buddy's a crap load of new caches popped up in my email. Most of them were ~15ish miles from home. As it turns out one was 5ish miles from us. We both stated what the heck lets go for it. Seeing that we both needed a FTF, and we have a pretty big group of hounds around. Threw the cache in my GPSr and he had his smart phone. Out the door we went. I was the one who made the find. I went back and looked at the log this AM to make sure there no mistakes. I saw one DNF already from another cacher. Aww what the heck here is the cache. I see nothing about the area being closed at sunset in the description. What say you all...
  6. I really hate to do this to y'all but I have a question. I hope it has not been asked all ready. Mainly because I can NOT find an answer. When I can not find something , normally means it can not be done. But here goes. By default when you go to view a cache on the map, as you know the new default is Mapquest. Is there a way to change it to OSM ?
  7. It's too far. Nobody would EVER do a cache that extreme http://coord.info/GC177JW I for one can NOT wait. Buying my self some gear this year Cliffy...... Cant wait to see you on the side of the Hill
  8. I have used SEVERAL " NON GARMIN" USB cables on both of my units. NEVER an issue.......
  9. I can say for sure YET. I will say I went out, for my 2/29/12 cache. Mine "seemed better" than a week ago. BUT I was basically in an open area today. Unlike last week where I was under a canopy ........

  11. I can not find it at the moment. I will throw up a post and see if someone remembers it.
  12. There was a mention of something like GSAK on G+ the other day.... Let me see if I can find it quick.
  13. Well I have installed 2.70 and did a factory restore and a fresh PQ. When I go out tomorrow I will find out if it is better, the same, or worse. If I have to figure out how to roll it back I will..
  14. Day 1 test results: UGH!!!!!!! Really ? How bad is bad ? Details.
  15. THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!!!! that is ALL I needed..... I started having ALL the freezing issues AFTER 2.61... And one cache I knew where it was had me over 5 MILES away......
  16. Has ANYONE done so ? Can you point me to the link? I have installed the beta 2.61 and it rendered my GPSr USELESS !!!! I could throw a rock at a cache and get closer....
  17. All was GREAT with my E Trex 20 until I installed this beta software... it royally **** my GPSr. I was ready to throw it into the reservoir. I have to figure out how to roll back the firmware to an earlier version.
  18. Kind of funny I run across this thread. I had the following e-mailed to me today THIS IS A JOKE PLEASE READ IN THE PRETENSE IT IS A JOKE !!!!!! What is the smallest caliber you can trust to protect yourself? The best answer: My personal favorite defense gun has always been a Beretta Jetfire in 22 short. I have carried it for many years including while hiking. I never leave without it. Of course the first rule when hiking in the wilderness is to use the "Buddy System". This it means you NEVER hike alone, you bring a friend, companion or even an in-law because if something happens there is someone to go get help. I remember one time while hiking with my brother-in-law in northern Alberta out of nowhere came this huge brown bear charging us and was she mad. We must have been near one of her cubs. Anyway, if I had not had my little Jetfire I would not be here today. Just one shot to my brother-in-law's knee cap and I was able to escape by just walking at a brisk pace. That's one of the best pistols in my collection... The following is a joke and no harm was done to either of my brother in laws..........
