  1. I have accidentally logged a find on my own AL as I thought I was on a test version. I have deleted it from my finds on the website but on the app it still shows that WP1 is found on my own cache and defaults to resume. How do I reset the app to ignore this accidental find.
  2. Another request to have a toggle to be able to keep the icon at corrected location after found. I don’t understand why this is not being made available and it forces cachers wanting to plan new caches to use other apps which keep icons at the correct coordinates.
  3. Thank you - this has worked. However is this only available if you have this old link? If so it is still a problem and needs Groundspeak attention, if the website has not been updated so that everybody can easily search for all finds for a cacher directly.
  4. It is now 7 months since this update and Groundspeak have still not fixed the issue that you can only see the last 1000 caches. On two occasions in the last week I have needed to look at another players finds in 2021 and it is impossible to view their last years finds as it is more than 1000 caches ago. All you can do it move to the first 1000 caches that they found many years ago but nothing inbetween. Am I missing something? As surely this can’t still be a bug that has not been fixed yet. Is there a different path I can follow to see ALL their finds rather than from their profile.
  5. This seems to be taking a long time to fix. The engineers were aware of the bug on 8th April but it is still showing old caches first.
  6. I hope this is a bug and is corrected soon - I can't believe that somebody made this change on purpose.
  7. Maybe I am mistaken then and it has always been this way on the new style drafts. Was it only on the old version that we could follow a link to the cache page directly from the list of drafts?
  8. From the drafts page there are two clickable locations - The edit icon which works as expected and takes you to the edit page and also the cache name which should take you to the cache page but this is not working as it also going to the edit screen. There is now no clickable link from drafts page to look at the original cache page.
  9. I have tried to search for a GC number using the search bar without filters. The cache is 24km from home in Southern England. The results shown are in Germany.
  10. When filtering by United Kingdom all caches with the name containing village hall series on a mobile this is the result I get. - The names are so truncated that the numbers and location are missing so they all have the same name. - They are not sorted by home location but some random point in UK (the first one in the list is 150 km from my home) - if I chose to change the column from favourites I can only pick one filter at a time and Difficulty and terrain are separate so no option to see D/T - no option to see date I found the cache. - glad that the search is now separated into tabs of 200 but there are 1200 caches in the series but I can still only see 1000 - why are there only 5 tabs available?. (Which 200 are missing as it is not the furthest from home - so is it a random selection that are not shown?) When I changed the search to from home location rather than United Kingdom with the same name search name contains it bought up a list which was headed ‘date found’ although they appear to be sorted as furthest from home as the first on the list which was actually 879km from home in northern Scotland (I am South coast England). I then chose to display by closest distance (via 3 dots) and the mileage displayed was in thousands of km. It still did not bring up closest to home and no idea where it sets the distance from (maybe America) I have been unable to find a way to sort the list by closest to home at all as it doesn’t seem to recognise my location although it is entered correctly in settings. I have also noticed when changing the filters via the three dots - if you are on for example distance, click the 3 dots for alternatives but decide you don’t want to change it, there is no option to either abort the search with an X or re choose the one you are already on ( In this example distance) therefore I had to choose another option and then go back again to revert to distance. please give us the option to use the old search until you can resolve the problems
  11. This is still an issue. I have found many messages I replied to from the email link have not appeared on the message centre and not gone to the recipient. This was reported in October and still not resolved.
  12. I reported this problem in July and Groundspeak would not acknowledge it and said it was a cachly problem. screen shots attached of report. The DNF log at the time came across correctly from cachly to Groundspeak in the list view but when pressing compose it changed the type to a found. I also noticed if it was a draft from a few days before it changed to the current date. I have just tested it again and have replicated the fault with the type changing.
  13. Thank you - I am very glad to see the pencil icon again on my caches.
  14. I use this feature all the time for my mystery caches and adding a waypoint would not help at all as I need them to show in position that the cache is placed for maintenance and distance when setting new caches. It makes no sence that we can see other people caches in solved position but not our own. The low percentage which is quoted is probably because many are traditional caches which do not need editing - I would be interested in the percentage of mystery only caches that are edited by CO. There must be another way to warn new cachers (a message pop up) rather than removing this valuable feature for COs
  15. I am not getting emails when I am sent a message and have discovered at a later time that they were there as the yellow icon is showing on the website. I reported this via the help and was told that it is not a bug. I was initially also told messages were not enabled on my account (which is not true as it is set to always receive email for messages) and the problem has continued since this reply from the help centre I asked on my local Facebook group and it turns out many others are experiencing the same problem but most have not reported it If the accompanying email is not being recieved I would like to be able disable message centre on my account so that contact would be done by email and I will not miss messages.
  16. I am very pleased to see this long awaited feature however the cache type needs to be shown (for example corrected multis in orange, corrected traditionals in green). With all types showing as mystery caches this will cause problems with identifying types for challenges etc at a glance. Although this is a step in the right direction I much prefer the way cachly marks them (with a red triangle in the centre of the existing icon if they are corrected) this way the original icon still shows. Would it be possible to toggle so that there is a choice to still see them in the corrected position even after being found as this helps with viewing proximity for a whole area on the map. The only reason I can think they are reverted to original position is so that geoart can be viewed which I understand some cachers like to see however personally I would prefer to see found and unfound all in corrected positions.
  17. My file is now loading correctly without the error message but I have opted out as do not like the new format for the following reasons 1. As with all the new pages there is too much white space 2 large font means having to scroll down to see all the caches 3. Took too long to load (only load a few at a time) 4. It loaded old field notes - the original version has a 'before date' setting to stop this happening if they are still on the GPS 5. No icon to show the type of log which means can't see at a glance if it is find or DNF etc. However the one feature that I do like is that you can view the text without clicking on compose log - but this is not enough to make me use this version compared to all the negative points.
  18. Has anybody successfully loaded from a GPS to the new drafts page without the error message saying that it is not in the correct format?
  19. I have tested from my Oragon 450 and when I loaded from the new page I had the error message 'geocache_visits.txt is not in the correct format'. I then reverted to the original page and loaded the same field notes and they have loaded correctly so it is not a problem with the file on my GPS. I also notice that the instructions for GPS users on where to find the visits file is no longer displayed although from a phone it is quite detailed - this should be included in the instruction ie. plug in via a USB , go to device directory and select visits (i.e Garmin - visits.txt/ magellan - newslog.txt or logs.txt) Not a problem for those that have previously loaded from a GPS but the instruction you give on the new page does not explain the process for a new user or an occasional user that has forgotten. edit - I have just seen there is a link on how to upload which gives instructions
  20. I am very pleased to see that I can now remove my friends posts and that some other improvements have been made however the following are comments on where I feel more improvements are needed 1.A quick link to the maps on the dashboard is for me very important and my most used feature which I click on on every visit - without this I will continue to use the old dashboard 2. Under recent logs there needs to be a two links at present it only links to the log. A separate link needs to be available to the cache page which could either be from the cache name or the GC number (which is missing completely but should be added) 3. There is no need for the word 'YOU' on a separate line for every cache if I have it filtered to only my caches, this takes up additional space so that less caches are in view - please make it one cache, one line 4. Logs showing dropping off TB do not show the cache name (visits from TB do) 5. There is inconsistency with the icon for recent logs - Found and DNF show an action icon (smiley face) but no cache type however notes, will attend, enabled etc show the cache icon type and no action icon (pencil, green tick etc). 6. Recently viewed - get rid of all the pictures depicting size and D/T this takes up two extra lines and looks messy and is not actually needed. If I have viewed it I know the details of the cache and if I have forgotten I can click the link again. All that is needed is the name, type and GC code and this can be on one line. If you do have to put this extra info it will be much better with D/T numbers rather than the pictures - everybody knows what these mean we don't need an illustrated description. 7. The huge profile picture and links to souvenirs and statistics is taking up valuable space at the top of the dashboard page. I doubt if checking souvenirs is something that anybody does on a daily visit (I only every look at them when a new one is gained and even then I don't always bother) so it does not need to be in prime position at the top which forces the other search links lower down the page. In my opinion souvenirs could move right to the bottom of the list on the left. 8. All text looks much bigger than it needs to be and lots of wasted white space. I have no problem with the old font. 9 Profile page - 3/4 of the screen is taken up with a massive photo (glad it is square again) and list of number of finds, hides etc - this should be much smaller so the rest of the information appears on the page and does not have to be scrolled. I look forward to further updates - but most importantly please add a link to the map.
  21. Although the one click map icon is now gone I can now see that on a website it is possible to go to play and then click the third option to get the map but that is not user friendly or obvious and surely is part of the old 'look' by using the top banner. However when I open the dashboard on my tablet I do not get the 'learn play community shop' banner at the top of the page so can't get to the link to view geocache map link without opening up a side menu. Having an easily found one click link to a geocaching map on the first page of the dashboard I feel is very important.
  22. I like the way the links are now together on the left and the page is in general tidied up however the features I do not like and feel need further improvement are as follows - 1. There is far too much white space meaning that you have to scroll to see anything else. On the new dashboard the whole initial screen is taken up with recently viewed caches and although I like to see this it does not need to take up this amount of space, I would ideally like to see the font decreased and white space reduced or alternatively only 5 to view and a link to view all. 2. The link to the map/list of caches near your home location has gone (also with filter out finds option) - I use this constantly and usually my first option when opening the website to view. As far as I can see now the only option to view the same unfiltered map without this link is with 5 separate clicks (each one with a slow lag to open) The process to get this map now is - Play/find geocache/click search icon/click map icon/clear search filters and finally the map is available - this was previously available in one click. Please put this link back on the main dashboard. 3. My recent logs need to be separately from my friends logs and appear on the dashboard either as the first section or after recently viewed and they also need to have the link to 'view all' in the same way as recently viewed has. 4. Friends logs need to be filterable as may not want to see everybody and if somebody has just done a series of 50 caches the feed will just show multiple similar posts which are of no interest. 5 Each section needs to have a collapse/open option so it can be reduced on the page if desired. 6. It would be great if cachers could choose the order the features appeared on the dashboard so they could set their favourite to the top and move sections up or down as required i.e recently viewed, own logs, friends logs. (own and friends log NEED to be separate items) 7 In the profile section I don't like the order the tabs appear - I would like mine to show the about section first (ideally open on this page) and this is the information I also like to view on other cachers profile - cachers could then be encouraged to add some individual info if it is currently not used to make their page personal. However Trackables Souvenirs and List should move to the end of the tab list as these are unlikely to be sections others would like to view as much. i.e my preferred order would be ABOUT - GEOCACHES - GALLERY - STATISTICS - TRACKABLES - SOUVENIRS - LISTS. 8. It would be nice to allow two profile pictures - one for the large icon on profile page and another for the smaller avatar on logs. In general I think the changes are moving in the right direction and I was very pleased to see that feedback was listened to prior to the release and the email link is still included (please leave this permanently) I hope feedback will continue to be looked and quickly acted upon and most importantly the link to the map/list of caches from home as centre point can be reinstated. I will continue to use the old page for now as the new dashboard does not suit my needs in the current format but look forward to seeing updates which may encourage me to move over.
  23. Before I take part in the February lab caches I want to guard against problems with our stats in the future should these Geocaching labs not go in to production. The fate of the old challenges springs to mind. I want to make sure that any finds I make of a lab cache will STAY on my find count for ever even if the concept is later dropped. Otherwise milestone caches could be adversely affected.
  24. Thanks for sorting this out
  25. I am using chrome but have tried on internet explorer too and got the same problem. when I posted on a facebook group another cacher confirmed they had the same problem using chrome.
