Ten years of geocaching!
RichardandJulie replied to TheAlabamaRambler's topic in General geocaching topics
Joined 28/12/01 so 12 years and counting. During that time I have had my 'phases'. When I started the nearest cache was about 40 miles away, now I have 1 at the end of the street. -

Hi all, Just a couple of quick questions. 1st If we are out caching in a group and we use a group name, does that name have to have a seperate account? or can we just use the name for the log book but still do online logging under our caching name. 2nd Can anyone recommend a free blogging service so I can do a geocaching blog of my exploits for family members to see. Thanks for looking Lord Richard

Hi, Having same problem with my oregon 550. Only way to do it without upgrading MM is to save track/routing as a gpx file., then go to mass storage on gps and copy to garmin/gpx and save in that folder. Richard

Real-time Navigation On Laptop
RichardandJulie replied to YakDiver's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Hi Richard I think the answer to that one is no. You could use a mapping like Autoroute 2004 and run your gps through that. I wanted to do te same as you but found the laptop a bit to big for the car, so actually went to a PDA with tomtom navigation. Regards -
Land Rover Freelander 2.0exdi, for the last 2years. Has been absolutely brill, mpg insurance reasonable. Have used it twice to drive right up to the cache, but generally try to walk the majority of them. Someone told me that it does you good to get the exercise
