    Nope! It doesn't work again.

    Please fix.

It's hard to find a cache that starts with the letter F if you can't scroll to page 6 when every time you go to the next page in the list, the caches don't stay sorted.

This is one of the big problems: going to page 2 UN-sorts everything and then re-sorting takes you back to page 1. So useless!

We are aware of the issue and are working on a fix.

17 days... any update? SO MANY functions were broken recently that some kind of reversion might be nice. Or just focus on fixing. I literally can't do a lot of things (search & lists) that I regularly do! One is trying to fulfill an older challenge that doesn't (and cannot) have a checker. I actually can see all my finds from 0-18.9 miles from home coords and then it jumps to 53 miles away. NO CHANCE I have not found caches between 19 & 53 miles from me. So not just alphabetical sorting is broken, DISTANCE sorting is broken. (Among other things, but the list is long.)

Three weeks since this the loss of this function was reported and twenty days since HQ acknowledged that "the team is looking into it." Sometimes we get a reasonably quick followup indicating that the team has been able to duplicate the problem and that they are working on a fix. I (and I suspect others from the comments on this thread) would appreciate an update.

I wonder if this problem is tied to the long standing search trouble that returns a list of caches nearest to your home coordinates even when you are searching thousands of miles away?

Actually feels like a LOT of things are broken at the moment, PARTICULARLY when trying to do searches and make lists. Super frustrating! An update from HQ would be more than welcome.

When I follow your steps, on Chrome, it shows all of my geocache hides including the archived ones, on list and map view.

Same when I view your hides from your public profile. It shows archived ones on the list view and the map view.

Opposite here for the second part:
My caching partner has over 7k finds and when I click all finds I get 4k+. And if I try to see his placed caches (wanted to read event logs), I cannot see even his very recent event, now archived. So I sure hope they fix the problem soon!

  5. SAME. I am having an awful time trying to find an older cache. When I click on a friend's cache profile it says they have 198 owned caches. I am sure a bunch are archived but when I try to show them I get ONE. That's it! And yet when I look at a different CO (who I think is the CO for what I want to find) their cache page shows a few more and includes only active and disabled. WHAT on earth is going on? The constant changes lately have been (from this user standpoint) mostly for the worse. I keep saying, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

A similar issue: looking at a friend's finds who has over 7,500. They have 7000+ physical finds and almost 500 ALs. But when I look at their find list it has a number in the 4000s! Can 3000+ of their finds SERIOUSLY be archived? I guess maybe but I doubt it and there is literally no way to know. What a mess.

Please can someone official (ie a Lackey) tell us if there will be a fix? You cannot hide archived caches since they are often included in live puzzle caches!!!!!

     - maps link is broken - nothing visible on the cache page.  But this has been a sporadic issue for quite some time, such as years.

I hadn't even thought of this - same here. For years I can load a cache page and get no map (in 4 different browsers that I use regularly FWIW). I have repeatedly had to "view larger map". It's always frustrating.

It appears this may be browser-specific. When using Firefox I have the two problems noted; when using Chrome I have no issues.

Oddly I have fewer problems in Firefox and tons in Chrome (consistently, not just recent). Right now the logs show in Firefox but not Chrome. FWIW.

  8. I can never understand why there are so many entities (especially online) that can never go with the old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Way too often companies (including Groundspeak!) spend $$ and hours on "upgrading" or "improving" when it is totally unnecessary.

I'm not saying they are not making things better, but they sure have been good at breaking stuff lately. I have issues with: seeing logs, personal notes (KEY!!!!!), bookmark lists, and more! All these things used to work just fine.

So call me +1 to many of these complaints/issues.

  9. I honestly can't believe that something THIS basic is still not fixed. I am still unable to click through and find a trackable. The link simply does not work, Error 404 etc. It's a pretty basic function and I seriously doubt it is a difficult bit of programming to fix. COME ON Groundspeak. PLEASE FIX.

  10. Bonjour!

    Merci beaucoup!!

  11. I rarely look but apparently locked my milestones going back to 800. It looks like you can update which cache it was, because I see what is there for my 900 is wrong. It's not a big deal but I wondered why nothing seems to be unlockable? Maybe once locked that's it? But then why does it allow me to open the dialog box to change it? (screenshot attached, green save button looks active but nothing happens))

Just wondering, are you seeing lots of "new to the game and will be gone next year" players receiving Rewards? Looking at the 23 Rewards virtuals I've found, all have COs who have been in the game at least 8 years and most more than a decade. So far, six 4.0 virtuals have been published in Australia and it's a similar pattern there with the "newest" CO having started in 2015. All have way more finds than me (two over 10,000 and one very close to that milestone), all but one have more hides than me and all but two have accumulated more FPs than me (one, who started in 2005, has received 2,222 FPs). Looking at their profiles, I'm very much the minnow.

I'm with you here - not sure what metrics were used but it sure seems like: premium members who've been in the game a long time and have active numerous caches. I thought the ones awarded I know of were well deserved, so whatever algorithm was invented seems pretty good from here. Only a small sample, of course.

Numerator is displayed accurately on the top of the cache page.  Total number of finds is displayed accurately on the bottom of the cache page. I'm just saying, there's enough information on the page to calculate a FP percentage.  Premium logs is not well-defined anyways as memberships get renewed, and lapse, etc.

Well , that will take some time when listing hundreds of caches for a trip. Not practical.

My take on the above is that the replies misunderstood the post. No one suggested that cachers do the calcs themselves, I think, just that there's enough information on the page FOR Groundspeak to do the calcs and get it right. (Although I will suggest it in a sec. Listing caches for a trip I don't think shows % only FPs? Unless using an outside website I guess?)

How do you measure whether someone could have given the cache a favorite point?

    ... [clip]
Whether you measure the finder's current premium status or the premium status at the time of logging, # of premium logs is subject to flaws.  Using the total number of finds is simpler, more stable, and I believe, good enough to get a sense of how people are enjoying the cache.  The CO could make the cache premium members only if they wanted, as well (yes, I know there is a way for a basic member to log a premium member only cache).

While I sort of agree here, the huge dip in %FPs for those caches that are basic and getting huge numbers of finds but maybe more from basic members than premium, the calc would be really unfair to the CO/cache.

Here is an odd example btw:  a cache with over 200 FPs and 8900+ finds...  https://coord.info/GC26VRH
Currently it says 5% FPs, but the actual calc if you include all logs is 2.7% (half!). So I suspect (but obvs am not going to count) it is calculating the % from the PM logs.  And granted, people go to it because they see something with a LOT of FPs. And yet actually it has a low percentage. (And isn't that great of a cache to be honest!) My point is, I think, that there is no winning here. Nothing suggested by anyone is "perfect" and actually all are problematic. I understand that FPs can be valuable, but they are often over-hyped and over-used IMHO. I don't want to banish them, but honestly I would just get rid of the percentage thing. Let people look and figure from the FPs whether to go for something, or look at FPs vs number of finds, if so inclined. I think the % calc has made a lot of work for GS programmers with results that are unsatisfactory to most everyone in some way. Not to mention buggy as h*ll!

Apologies if this has already been covered (I didn't see it in the thread, but I may have missed it), but on a trackable's page, whenever you click on a cache linked from a TB log, it redirects to the page for GC0, which obviously doesn't exist.

Getting this using Firefox on Windows 10.

Known issue, this from my other thread:

One of the issues that was mentioned early on was not being able to edit a Reviewer Note on an unpublished and unsubmitted cache, with some speculation that this might have been intentional. I'm wondering if that's still the case, as I'm currently putting together a reasonably involved puzzle cache that has a lot of information to go into my Reviewer Note that I can do now while it's fresh in my mind, but the final stuff like photos of the cache placement I won't have until I go out tomorrow to place the cache. As a precaution in case I still can't edit, I'm writing my draft note in Word so I can copy and paste tomorrow, but that's a little cumbersome.

FWIW you can always add another reviewer note, that's what I just did. Better than nothing?

  16. I can currently go from a cache page to the trackable(s) in it but CANNOT go from any trackable page to the cache page it is listed in.

(Is it just me or does it feel like ever since the whole logging thing was changed that there are a lot of things breaking?!)
