  1. Being relatively new myself, I can't offer as specific information as the fine people above. I've got a Garmin nuvi 265W that I loved. Please note 'loved'. Unfortunately, ours freaked out and froze up on us so we had to send it back to Garmin. Our replacement is due any day and we'll be back out on the trail. My three bits of advice are: 1) Be sure to have a work related project minimized on your computer to pull up real quick when the boss comes in, because this is ADDICTING!! 2) Check out how to make your GPS paperless, by installing GSAK. You can get everything you need to know at this website. 3) Enjoy it!! My wife and I have been to places we didn't know existed and seen some beautiful sights!! And we've only found nine caches as of this posting. Pretty much most people on these forums are friendly, so don't ever be afraid to ask questions!! Enjoy and good luck!!
  2. Wow, apparently I hit a raw nerve. I'm certainly not in competition with anybody, I just thought it would be interesting and judging by the response I'm not the only person curious about it. Thanks to everybody for their input and guidance. With six caches to my name, I'm eagerly looking forward to joining the 10+ club this weekend. Good luck everybody, be safe and remember...it's a jungle out there.
  3. Is there an existing list of who the top geocachers are?? I think it would be interesting to keep a tally somewhere of who's found the most geocaches. Certainly don't want to start a competition, but I think it would be neat to see who's collected the most caches, or who has found caches on different continents. Just a thought. Hope everybody's well!!
  4. Thanks for getting back to me Star. I'm a new to this forum, so not quite sure where that is. Thanks.
  5. I've got a nuvi 265W and I have no problems putting the .gpx files on there, by adding them into 'Custon POIs' via the POI Loader. Howver, all I get when I move them over is the location, the person hiding the cache, the type of cache and thee diff./terrain. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the description and the hint and any logs. Is this possible with the nuvi26W?? Thanks for any help.
