  1. Thanks everyone for the replies. I'm really looking for, how I hate this phrase, outside the box ideas. Not interested in doing what's already been done. Niche stuff. A nude geocaching website is a crazy hypothetical example. Geocache Poker Run using hot air balloons. I'll worry about profitability later, looking for the seed idea right now. No idea is too crazy. Every invention or new idea was at one time considered unrealistic or impossible. No offense to anyone, but I'm looking for what I can do, not WHY I can't do it. Use your creativity. If time and money were no object stuff. Nishna & Static, with any luck, perhaps we can get you to the front of the line .
  2. We will be traveling the country in an RV and want to earn an income doing something we love. In your opinion, is this feasible in regards to geocaching? Toss any ideas our way, please. We will definitely be RV'ing, just not sure how we're going to pay for it. Can you foresee a scenario where we might blog or write about geocaching, for an income? I'd love to design a "Cannonball Run"/Poker Run type of game but don't know how to profit from the idea. If you'll indulge me for a moment I'd like to share our background with you. I'm 44 and the wife is 37 and until two months ago we were working in professional fields. Call it mid-life crises if you will, but we decided life is too short if you don't enjoy your chosen profession. Our passion is travel, hence the RV, so we dropped out of the work force are ready to begin our new lives. We are both ecstatic to get started geocaching across our great nation and that's lead me here. If we can combine our two loves, travel & geaocaching, and earn a living while doing them, that would be Nirvana. Any ideas, any at all are appreciated. Thanks in advance to all who reply.
  3. Forgive this techno illiterate but please help. Bought a PalmIIIxe on Ebay and am ready to start paperless caching. Problem is I need help from start to finish on how to install the necessary software. Would someone please walk me step by step through the procedures. Believe you me you can't talk down to my level enough LOL so all responses, however rudementary, are appreciated. I have the palm loaded on my computer and after that I can't comprehend what I should do. Thanx in advance.
  4. I went ahead and finished my last post even though I believe I see the folly of my ways already. If I understand correctly I would have all of the needed info but for just one cache at a time. Unless of course I lug my laptop out there with me. Am I on the right wavelength now? Thanx again.
  5. I told you I am a tad slow so bear with me. If I understand correctly, couldn't I just download the waypoints into my GPS and then look on my laptop for the corresponding code and have all the information at my fingertips? Told you it might be a stupid question so don't say I didn't warn you. Seriously, thanks for the help.
  6. Please forgive me for what may seem an easy question. What software would we need to go paperless with a laptop as opposed to purchasing a Palm? Just want to view what I see online without printing it out. Is this possible or do we need a PDA? Thanx in advance.
  7. One that makes me laugh with glee upon finding it! This usually happens when I'm a little frustrated, finally find it, and laugh at how stupid I was!
  8. Thanks so much for the input! You've answered our questions
  9. Brand new to this and getting ready to buy a GPS. We're highly considering the Garmin GPSMAP 60c. But, we're confused about downloading everything. We know this unit will download the waypoints, but will it also download hints and info about the specific cache? Or will we still need a PDA for that part of it? Thanks for all your help!
  10. I told you guys I was a newbie lol. Seriously, thanx for the input.
  11. Newbie here, so I'm sorry if I'm asking a redundant question. Was wondering if it's possible to filter through the cache listings by the rating? Not a problem now but in the future I may not want to open each listing only to find it's not the difficulty level I want. Thanx in advance.
