  1. Did he really base that opinion on just 6 caches? Talk about over-generalization.
  2. A couple of pictures from Vegas: On the strip (not Photoshopped) RLCSpeaker after assimilation at Start Trek: The Experience (Photoshopped a little bit)
  3. I just came back from a Vegas cache-run. One of the containers was the remains of a Tupper-like container that had grown so brittle from exposure that you couldn't touch it without breaking off a piece. It wasn't very nice. A previous finder had placed the log, pens, swag (such as it was) in a blue plastic bag.
  4. Well, Rick lost his cell phone at one of the caches (we think) and didn't notice it for about an hour. I insisted we go back and look, but we couldn't find it. Some 'cachers we are. He has insurance, though, so the only thing we really lost was a couple of hours. We ended up with 35 smilies, and the only machine I put money into was the one that spits out a smashed coin. I also met an Endoran and had a Klingon threaten to throw me out an airlock.
  5. OK, we made it back from Vegas. Many flavors of 'caching fun were had. Hey, Grant. Congrats on the Green Card (or should that be in the SD Congrats Thread?)!
  6. OK, here's my safety post: RLCSpeaker and I both got kitchen passes for an overnight trip to Vegas for his birthday. We leave in about an hour and should be back late tomorrow afternoon. If I don't post here by tomorrow night sometime...it means we couldn't stop 'caching!
  7. I missed some of these the first time around. Thanks for the recap.
  8. 300? That's nothing! I hit 3...uh...what? 3000? 3000? Really? Very nice!
  9. The idea for Dream State, possibly my favorite puzzle cache, literally came to me in a dream. Turning that dream into a reality, however, took weeks of very hard work, both mentally and physically.
  10. Nabbed a Flintstones and misprint today. Nice work, as usual.
  11. Thanks! Of course, each shirt will need a disclaimer on the label that states, "Wearing shirt does not enable wearer to fly." 'Cause, you know, some people might put on the shirt, climb up on the roof and leap off, expecting to soar through the air like a mighty eagle or something. Not me, of course. Well, not again, anyway.
  12. Can I get one like this?!?! Does it come with a red cape? I'd be the envy of all the kids on my block!
  13. Perhaps you could make it a "Mystery/Unknown" cache, but not say that "the cache is NOT at the listed coordinates?" Most people would assume that they were not. They would get the surprise you were hoping for, but you would not have lied, and they would have fooled themselves, which is much more fun.
  14. The unanswered question is...did you trade up?
  15. Mad Props to Team Adelos for their first FTF!
  16. If I'm talking to a hiker, I say, "Geocaching is hiking for people without enough frustration in their lives." If I'm talking to a non-hiker, I say, "Geocaching is hiking for smart people."
  17. Thanks, everyone! To paraphrase QDMan, "We couldn't have done it without you." (And as it happens, that's literally true when referring to QDMan since we hit #700 at his cache Twoo Wuv #1 - Inigo Montoya!) I'm honored. And congrats on the 7 Century Mark.
  18. "A recent episode of NBC's "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" centered around a geocache turned murder suspect." Those evil geocaches! I'm glad our local caches have pledged to use their powers for good.
  19. Thanks, guys. I couldn't have done it without you.
  20. In case you missed it, my best friend and caching partner has placed his first cache. It's near Chollas Reservoir. I can't get out there until tomorrow, so good luck to all the other FTF hounds!
