  1. "Sign the log, get the smiley" - one of my many mottos. Another is "Semper Ubi Sub Ubi".
  2. The one on the left has to drive and the one on the right has to open and close the gates...I think.
  3. John and I would be willing to join Chuy and introduce you to East County also...I'd even drive downtown to get you..at 0530..early is good. Keep us posted. As you can see...you're coming to a friendly place!!! Jahaodi and John Be careful DocDiTTo, you are falling into the hands of puzzle-cache fiends. I noticed that they didn't say anything about getting you back to your hotel. How's your Spanish by the way? Hey now Harmon...that's not true. I have not had the pleasure of experiencing the Sandy Creek Cowboy caches so I was hoping to tag along. But now that you mention it...if he's willing to brave Puzzle Valley...hmmmm jodi Jodi, It will be a pleasure to see your log entries at the Sandy Creek Cowboy caches. Us ol' cowboys are thrilled when Geocachers come way out to cowboy country for our modest offerings. We're even more thrilled when a cowgirl such as you shows up 'cause it makes us yodel f'r some strange reason. We've had a lot of fun with our crazy hides. Funny thing, I've gotten two email requests asking permission to duplicate one or two of our cowboy cache setups. How in the world they heard about our hides in Washington state and back in Iowa I'll never know. I know how y' like puzzles so here's a country-boy puzzle f'r y'. First of all y' need t' know that hogs can swim but when they do so their forehoofs lacerate their throats. So what's th' safe way t' drive a herd of hogs across a river? Y'all come y' hear? Harmon & Bill, The Sandy Creek Cowboys On a boat?
  4. I guess Dan-oh sorta answered my question, but I'll ask it anyway. Has nobody placed a cache in the last few days or...? Not that I'm complaing, gives me a chance to play ketchup! I imagine were gonna get quite a flood of new caches...tonight? Nice fish, D I submitted one on Saturday. I'll probably submit another this weekend. Will anyone be surprised to hear there are puzzles involved.
  5. Kind of reminds me of this one. [/cheap attempt to get people to look at my blog]
  6. I agree with Sky Cop. I really don't need you to protect me from pieces of paper in a cache. If you find a knife, or a bomb, or a live scorpion, feel free to save me. Otherwise, I can think for myself, thank you very much.
  7. I like the idea of a 'polymer cache'.
  8. Hey QDman! I wanna be your sibling too! Can we be brothers in the greater family of Geocachers who started in 2005? Jeff / drexotic Welcome to the family, Jeff.
  9. Congratulations, QDman! I would like to say "Ditto" to most everything you wrote -- well, except for the puzzle part -- -- and the "getting on the local news part," and the 4WD Cachemobile part -- on the event of my own Cache-iversary, today, January 17. I put out a cache along the Hollenbeck Canyon trail I took one year ago today to find Pathfinder and Snoopy's "Hollenbeck Canyon Cache." Thanks to everyone in this great community for playing a very big part in literally changing my life! Hey, we're like twins, almost! OK, since we're semi-siblings I hearby offer my help on any puzzles you'd care to name. Even the ones I haven't solved yet.
  10. OK, that's fast! Congrats, Flutterbyes, beautiful little neocacher you got there. Thanks, everybody. I couldn't have done it without you...unless I placed caches and then went out to find them. Hey, I could probably cut my DNF's in half that way!
  11. Well, Happy Cache-iversary to Me! I can't believe it's been a whole year since my brother said, "Have you ever heard of geocaching?" I replied in the negative, he told me what it was, pulled out a cache page and sat photo, and we found Spooky Hill. My life hasn't been the same since. I've met wonderful people, corresponded with more of the same, been to places I never knew existed, learned how frustrating puzzles can be, learned how much fun frustrating others can be, improved my health, got on the local news, and finally found a reason to put the QDmobile in 4WD mode. I can't wait to see what the next year has in store. Thanks, everybody!
  12. OR... Type the address into Google Maps. The coords are in the address bar of your browser. If you need them in a different format, copy and paste them into the translator at jeeep.com
  13. If it's totally missing, how can you find it?
  14. I had to go to PS for a meeting about a year ago, so I grabbed a few caches along the way. The namesake for this one was a treat (it's about 100 maters north of the actual cache). And this is still one of my favorite camo jobs. Have a safe trip.
  15. I found out this morning that can be a bad idea. I was about a half hour late to work since I had problems at the last one I wanted to find. I stayed till I found it though! Ain't dat da truth!
  16. I think it would be neat to have them listed on the bookmark owner's profile page.
  17. If you're a Premium Member, you're not a noob. You're just an 'unseasoned veteran.'
  18. Here is another cool thing that I just noticed about a week ago. Google toolbar has a spell checker on it that works in text boxes like the one I am typing in right now and the one for logging caches. It works great and it eliminates the need to cut and past my text into word for spell checking. There's a Firefox plug-in that does the same thing. Interestingly enough, it doesn't recognize the word 'Firefox'.
  19. Spoiler photo of Dan-oh's Mississippi River cache container.
  20. I've had caches published in as little as a few hours and as long as a few days. We have great reviewers in our area, so I know if it takes a while, there's a good reason for it. Be patient, and trust that the wait will be worth it.
  21. There's your problem right there I knew I'd get this. Like it or not though, IE is here to stay and it works best for my home banking, so it stays. Really I'm just wondering if anyone else besides me is having the problem. I think the problem with 'You In?' was a MS Word -> HTML issue. I think I cleaned it up. If not, feel free to increase the difficulty to a 3.
  22. RLCSpeaker and I have a running gag. We'll drive by a hill thats covered with boulders, and one of us will say, "There's probably a cache on that hill." The other will say, "Yeah, and the hint says, 'Under the boulder.'"
  23. It kind of creeps me out a little bit.
  24. I was visiting my family in Kansas. My brother asked me if I had ever heard of geocaching. I said no. He had just learned about it. We went out and found 3 caches sans GPSr. I came home, bought a MeriPlat, joined GC, and the rest is history (of some sort).
