  1. Never been to either N or S isle.. Whould be honoured to make it there..
  2. I can see a muggle trashing it soon then! Some Ecstasy riddled Hoodie taking a dump in the bushes will find it and try to eat the contents. I would blame Dizzie Rascal if I were you... I think thats a tad narrow minded. I will remember to trash the Glastonbury Tor Cache on my way to Worthy farm NOT Oh by the way.. Diz is a brilliant act.. (and I'm not into his music style) But as a festival goer I must be be a teenage Hoodie wearing ecstacy cache trasher.. Cheers
  3. Marmite... Love it.. Curries love them.. GARLIC BREAD!!! Mmmm And MrsY is an Avon Lady... oooo
  4. Good luck folks you have lots of work in front of you.. And probably a lot of flack as well. If I can help any I will.. As Com member in 2008 I know about the workload A campsite that takes commercials would be good... But you REALLY need to get a dragon sorted!!!
  5. Many thanks for that PP.. We will be muching up your scotland events.. Of which all I am sure will be superb. However I was wondering how cachers may be breaking up the journey to scotland. We may go directly(ish(via home)) to the main site.. We are all really looking forward to Mega 2010.. ( I take it "The Midge" is in full cooporation with the committee ) Sorry Robin but we will be having a bettter time in Britain..
  6. Hi folks! I know a lot of cachers are going from Piratemania to The 2010 Mega camping site. Any thoughts on the week in between? or just straight up to Perthshire??
  7. Seems the campsite are really up for this.. The confirmation letter is a hoot. Maybe spare gps units and they may get hooked into the joys of caching.. Not long now folks
  8. Aaaaaaarrrrrrr that will be another 3 of us then!!
  9. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...af-ac2c222a3024 Followed closely by GFAB 2008. Did'nt do loads of caching but enjoyed walks and chatting and a general good time..
  10. Lol To be honest I'm not bothered about FTF rights.. It just anoys me to know I have driven past a cache 5 times and not even known it was there..
  11. No notification of a series of caches... Only got to find out about them when HH phoned to tell me of his FTF's. Aparrently I have missed another series as well. Why you cannot set up a notification just for any new cach within X miles now is beyond me.
  12. I'm a bit gutted that GCPE40 has gone missing. Its a cache I have not found as I wanted to do it with Littleyokel.. From the logs it seems the cache is still there.. I see no mention of the cache going missing although the original Amo tin seems to have gone. Maybe I should go for a look..
  13. The notification issue has been affecting me for over 6 months. The PQ hampster is bust again.. No doubt the PQ's will be fixed in time.. Doubt they will bother with the notifications though.. Or missing cache logs.
  14. I think most peeps do the same thing.. Get small ringbound and make it smaller..
  15. Well done to all.. A fitting thing to respect Ewans caching.. RIP Billy Twigger
  16. Well I thought my problems had been solved untill a few days ago. Loaded my 4*500 gpx and set off for the day. Nearest 500 not found Harrogate/Sheffield/Derby/Nottingham. At lunchtime turned on the Oregon and looked for the nearest cache (near Derby).. Only one showed up a sepratly loaded LQ Lancashire. So I did a reset as Mouse described (and I had done the previous day). After reset returned to Geocaching profile (the only alteration I make) and all the caches where displayed. So it may be worth doing a reset "in the field" if you cannot see contents of gpx files on the device.
  17. Looks very good... Not that anybody would share things but looks good..
  18. Although I work in the area often I dont think I could maintain a LQ cache at this distance.. However I am sure that there must be ample hiding places close to the coords N54 53.975 W001 29.084 at the waterfowl park at Washington.. Not far away and maybe in a less muggle intense area. Just a thought..
  19. It's been flaky for some time now.. Have missed several new caches coming out in the last couple of monthe.. Going to the other extreme I had a double copy of a PQ come through today..
  20. I have exactly the same problem. I use GSAK to transfer caches in 1 (or maybe 2) gpx files, but sometimes when I disconnect from the PC and switch on the unit it freezes, and I have to remove/replace the batteries. Strangely though, after doing the above, sometimes the caches load, and sometimes they don't. Now, I always check that they are loaded before leaving the house! I have had all of these problems.. This solution wont prevent the occasional freeze on bootup but just pull the batteries and all should be fine.. I always tend to install .GPX files that have been downloaded from GC (because I have them in areas) I copy and paste each time but do not instantly disconnect the Oregon the second it indicated the files are copied over (leave it 30 secs).. I always delete area GPX files and recopy them which seems to prevent the missing whole "area" GPX files even though they show as being resident when you brows with explorer. (Each "area".GPX file I load tends to be of 500 caches.. Normally I load 4 at a time)
  21. Jamie replied quicker than I.. One other thing I would like to point out. Although we had shipped loads of coins all over the world when we where setting up early on the day of the event we where still hundreds of pounds short of even breaking even never mind turning it into proffit. It was probably about 2 hours into the event that I let Robin and the rest of the team know we where in the clear. We decided many months previously that we may have to take the whole thing "On the chin" Hopefully as the events now have a longer planning period finances can be sorted earlier. Steve 1st M-COM
  22. For my 2p.. I know how much work needs to be put in for a Mega event I think London at any time would be problomatic but during the Olympiad it would be bonkers due to all of the security. Surely the Reading-Oxford-Milton K area would be better.. Inside the M25 we would probably not go. I noticed the thoughts on having an outside event.. We looked into this a lot for 2008 and one of the major drawbacks after securing a venue was the cost.. Hold it in a field by all means but with 1000 folks turning up what do you do about food... loo's and access for and disabled cachers.. Could you bank on the weather... Er no.. For us the Hotel covered many of the problems in one go.. As it did for WSM. By the way many thanks to all the WSM crew.. We had a thoroughly great time Perth you are looking Good already.. Cannot wait to get there..
  23. Very sad to hear this news.. Our thoughts are with all of his friends and family.
