I would love to do this one later in the summer. I need to spend some time getting into shape first! Haha! Our area has amazing hills and mtns with some great caches so I'm working on building up my strength and endurance! I'll keep a watch out on here for an upcoming hike!

I'm laughing at myself after realizing this was a total noob "operator error." I forgot that I had unchecked an option (think it was auto-post as log), so that it saves my notes, but I have to go back in and hit the button to actually post it! It's a lesson that was to be learned at one point or another!

I checked this morning, and was finally able to see the logs under my profile (in addition was another find I thought had posted but never did!). I was able to submit them that way! Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the responses! I did send both DNFs and both were confirmed. I can't see either one in my personal logs. I'll wait till morning and check again, otherwise I'll blame the phone, and will post directly from my pc. Thanks, again, for the replies!!!

We have the jr for the kids and it's great for them but I understand your concern (we haven't bought the update kit yet...I want to find a way to make my own). What about looking on Craigslist or in local pawnshops? I just started gc'ing and have only used my iPhone but will be looking into buying a GPSr soon! Good Luck! Teamkayash

I was out today and found two caches and had to log my first DNF. I submitted logs for all 3 from my phone and the two I found show up under my account profile, but the DNF doesn't! Has it really been submitted and I just can't see it, (it said it was) and I just can't see it (tried logging out, viewing recent logs on the cache page, and reposting the DNF), or am I doing something wrong? Unfortunately, I'm so new to GC that I don't have much to offer in the way of advice. However, you could also put a similar post in the forum on here dedicated to your area. Just another way to meet GCers near you! Good luck and have fun!

We have the geomate Jr which is great for the kids, but I wouldn't reccomend it as your only gps unit. For now I just use my iPhone (the geocache app and another gps app...both have proven to be very accurate so far), but I can't wait to be able to afford something better!!!

On my first find, there was something I really wanted but I didn't have anything on me so I took the mini carabiner off my keychain and used that. The other few I've found I've just left cool little odds and ends I've found around the house, but I'll be going to buy some "geoswag" in the next day or two! I've found some great ideas through posts on here!!!

Hopefully, the admins can help you out. If not, maybe make an account for BOTH of you (that's what I chose to do). With small kids, they may not be able to update or log in as easily. Think of a name that's easy to remember (my username is using part of my two girls' names, Kayla and Ashley). Use an email that isn't carrier spacific (use a gmail or yahoo, etc) in case you change providers. Lastly, write the info down where you KNOW you'll remember it. Sorry this got a little "wordy" but I hope it helps you or someone else!

Hello! I'm new to GC and have what is probably a very simple question. How do I find caches that have JUST been hidden? Is there a way to use the search function for this? I typically use my iPhone but am pretty sure you can't find them on the app unless you look every day and notice a new name. Maybe I'm wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Teamkayash
